Right Stockholm, you started it..........

Warm tins of Tartan Bitter and  a packet of No.6 fags on the 11.00 train:blink:

Getting served in the Spotted Horse on a matchday when you was obviously under age.

Walking along Ossie Road or London Road singing at the away fans with a huge police escort in between!

The magic gap that always opened up when away fans made themselves known on the Popside - no matter how packed it was!

Leaping off the train at an away match and the chants echoing around the station....."Derby boys we are here, shag your women and drink your beer, whoa ohh ohhho"

The chant of "Derby Aggro, Derby Aggro" as we all went piling in..

Getting the Ram tattoo on your forearm

Tartan turn ups stitched on your Skinner jeans.

Ox blood Docs

Harrington jackets

It sounds really pathetic now and I have no wish to jazz up the bad old days of football hooliganism, but to come of age during the 70's was exhilarating. The excitement and adrenaline rush of being anonymous in a huge crowd, letting off steam with like minded lads was incredible, it was rebellious, anarchic, a break from everyday conformance. Parents, school, work, all out the window, forgotten about for a few hours as you ran with the gang for your weekly fix of DCFC..

All this and having the best team in the land.....:D

Wow, that brought back memories, do you remember the Beer at home means Davenports advert usually played just before or during the break in Star Soccer ? I've just recited it in my mind but there's one word I can't remember.

And the Alpine pop man,  he used to do our area on a Friday night. I remember one Friday night a house was on fire in Stockbrook Street and the driver pulled his van right up against the house and got people out on to his roof from an upstairs window.

Beer at home means Davenports,

That's the beer, lots of cheer,

The finest malt with hops and yeast

Turns a snack into a feast.

Straight from brewery to your home,

Why collect? We'll deliver

Soon you'll know why folks all say

Beer at home means Davenports.

Sure was. The words were on the screen in one version, and a little bouncing beer bottle hopped along them.
