YouRams
Anybody got any suggestions on local courses that hold up to the weather during the winter? I'm having withdrawals, the past few courses I have played have been boggy and overgrown. Allestree, Belfry PGA, Uttoxeter, Kyngs not worth playing on. Gary Teale
Morley Hayes does pretty well in the wet and always stays on the greens.

rebb1
Whittington Heath, Beau Desert and Druids Heath are all basically built on sandy soil and so drain well. Also, Worksop is renowned for playing on the summer tees & greens throughout the winter.
Wolfie20
Definitely give Beaudesert a go - nice course, near the top of a hill and as has already been said, sandy soil so quick-draining.

Rev
Anywhere north Notts, Hollinwell would have been good before the green was vandalised, Sherwood Forest, Lindrick, College pines, Worksop all well drained and reasonable green fees in Winter. Also the new(ish) course at Breadsall Priory plays well in winter.
