When will Brighton win?

Injuries and fatigue to begin with - plus some tough games. We were only a minute or so away from wins at Derby and QPR but conceeded late in both. Last night though we'd had a bit of rest, a couple of debutants and LuaLua/Baldock back on the bench as they return from injury. Hard to make excuses for last night, we had a decent starting XI and bench and didn't play well enough. Hughton was livid, press in next room to dressing room could hear him bollocking the players after the game.

Ah fair enough.

Perhaps hughton and Clement can go to the same anger management class ☺

If your key men are coming back then shouldnt be long until you're firing again. I don't mean kicking out the manager!

Difficult to judge on a few SSN clips, but the centre of Brightons defence for Rotherham 2nd looked very incohesive. Like us towards end of last season. Is there a consensus view of whats going wrong for Brighton - eg accumulation of injuries meaning everyone who's left is knackered as they cant be rested?

tho looking at us, we get worse after we rest players it seems!

No consensus, but it seems exactly the same thing that happened in the play-offs two seasons ago. Defence at left back, decimated by injuries, and lost another main player (Greer) in the match. But definitely not strength in depth, and altogether an ageing and unbalanced first XI as well. I think this may apply to most of the challengers exceptions of the big spenders, Derby, Boro and Wednesday. Burnley and Hull might be the same if they get hit by injuries as well?

Any useful products coming through your youth system or is it too early to tell?

Another couple of dunks? Looks like Calderón can't be expected to last a season.

Pardon?, Looks like you're going to explode again like last time and breach FFP. No wonder Candy Crush man is livid as his investment is going down the pan Unlike our billionaire owner.

Had a nice 7 weeks away from here then?

Transfer budget gone to buying in youngsters to replace ageing players. Oldies: Greer, Calderon especially, but also Bruno (very classy RB), Zamora (3 years older than Bent), Rosenoir. Only home grown youngster is Solly March (injured last season and this). Greer (covering central defender important position) always going to be the last season, but he is not going to last the pace. The problem is not loss of form but ageing players.

Other clubs are doing the same policy of getting on younger players. No way of tellling who is making the best signings and developing youngsters? Other clubs seem to be doing better with the youngsters, but the experience in the Albion squad got lots of points on board. Wih the younger players it seems how they improve will make the difference (same with Derby). Brighton recruitment incomplete or inadequate for an automatic challenge realised at the beginning of the season (I predicted 6th) and even the play-off challenge was hampered by injuries.

Fixture list no longer looks so imposing now.
