odd decision.

He played one last Test at both the Gabba and WACA, probably just thought it was time. With Starc firing down at 160 in the match and him clearly starting to slow it's probably best to go out in his prime and give others a go to build towards the future.

Hated him as a sporting adversary, but cannot fail to be impressed by sportspeople who climb out of the abyss to excel in their chosen sport - good luck to him and well done for going out on a high

And his character on the last Ashes series, when getting an absolute hammering from all the home crowds, is a credit it to him. Took it all and with humour as well.

Wish we had more like him in our game
