Day
Swindon Town’s farcical season took another bizarre twist on Monday with the announcement that chairman Lee Power has put himself in charge of the team following the dismissal of manager Mark Cooper. Power had already caused consternation in the Wiltshire town by alienating the local newspaper, refusing to let them speak either to the manager or players before games in order to promote the club’s own media channels. But in taking the place of Cooper, who led the team to the League One play-off final in May, Power has caused even more eyebrows to be raised. Cooper had been in charge for 26 months, but was sacked following a dismal run of seven defeats in eight games, despite a crippling injury list and an over-reliance on loan players. Power, though, has decided he is the best man to lead the players out of their slump as a caretaker manager.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/swindon-town/11940898/Swindon-Town-chairman-Lee-Power-appoints-himself-as-manager.html

mcsilks
Power trip? Has Power gone to his head? He is now in a position of Power.Read the whole article and you'll see that he doesn't want the job but felt he had to take action as the previous regime were undoing much of the hard work the management team and the club had done, and playing a brand of football that was going away from what they were trying to do. He is there only until they find a replacement. The quoted part at the top of this thread is misleading.
