Albert
Disappointing to see England leave early, especially as hosts, but that was a brave performance in the second half. They were given the group of death, and at least one of three very good sides was going to have to go home early.

Albert
England haven't lost, that's like saying Hitler lost World War 2, England committed suicide on the pitchI actually quite enjoy watching England, unlike most people in Australia I really don't enjoy seeing them get destroyed on the World stage repeatedly. However, I must say that I'm not convinced that football, cricket or either rugby could be considered to be a national sport there. In Australia we have that weird vicker game that is barely watchable, but right fun to play along the Victoriosphere, and Rugby League where it's too hot and humid to think. In New Zealand they play Rugby Union with an almost religious fervour. Americans go mad for that game where they've managed to mix using players as chess pieces with attempting to do the most head trauma possible. England though, they don't talk about their national sport much, but it seems that everyone loves it, and far more than any of the above countries love theirs. In England, your national sport is brutally eviscerating your heros following everything that isn't absolute success. I really don't get it. England out there didn't perform badly. They went into the match after a close loss to a very good Wales side, against an Australia side that are arguably in with one of the best chances to win the World Cup. It's the group of death. England didn't lose because they collapsed in a heap, they lost because Australia on the day took their chances when they had the momentum. England defender well, and performed bravely in the second half, and could very well have won the game if things kept going as they were. That wasn't a shameful performance by any means, they were just ultimately beaten by the better side on the day, and it was unfortunate that the way that the draw occurred meant that such a big match was in the pool stages rather than a final. Thanks for a more balanced assessment. Last week England played their A game for an hour and then lost discipline against a determined Welsh side.Against Australia they assumed they would have forward domination - they were wrong. They also faced a side who looked utterly comfortable in possession of the ball. It was a great performance by Australia. Sometimes you lose in sport - that's a fact. If you lose and do your best that's no bad thing. You will learn from it. This is mostly a young England side and I wouldn't mind odds on the 2019 World Cup.Oh, and for those who just want to slag off the upper classes, that type of stereotyping is no better than racism or homophobia. Get a hold of yourselves.

They are not heroes. They are sports people. The bloke who took 7 bullets trying to stop a gunman in Oregon this week, he's a hero. The blokes who brought down a wacko shooting up a French train the other week, they are heroes.People who risk their lives on a daily basis, people who save lives, they are heroes. There's a number of large irrevelant parts in your post, mainly that if England had been in a weaker group and progressed they would have met a better team later rather than sooner thus only delaying the outcome that happened yesterday. Ah nice, a semantics debate when discussing Rugby. Heros are those that are looked up to, a lot of people look up to sports people. The existence of people who have performed heroic acts doesn't mean that the word hero can't be applied in its usual sense. There's a number of large irrevelant parts in your post, mainly that if England had been in a weaker group and progressed they would have met a better team later rather than sooner thus only delaying the outcome that happened yesterday. So what you're saying is that the only acceptable result for England was to lift the World Cup?
