Why Why Why Weimann

Why have we signed Weimann?

We already knew a pacy poacher who can't hold the ball up doesn't fit our main system.

We can't play as a wide man in a front 3, making Russell look like Hazard,

Was it because we could?

For those who think this is harsh, ask yourself this question. If someone offered the £2m we paid for him would you take it?

Because Clement wanted to play the diamond. So you'd have 4 strikers for two spots. Martin, Bent, Weimann, Russell. Pick whichever two are in form.

Team A:

                  Carson

Baird   Keogh   Shackell   Forsyth

                  Thorne

          Hendrick Hughes

                   Ince

            Martin    Bent

Team B:

                      Grant

Christie   Pearce   Buxton   Warnock

[In the market for a DM here]

                Hanson   Bryson

                       Dawkins

              Weimann   Russell

Extra: Mitchell, Ssewankambo, Shotton, Bunjaku etc...

That's why.

Correct this formation suits him. However it doesn't suit the rest of the team.

How many minutes have we seen the formation been played in? We're going to need more than one option, and lets not forget that Weimann has been playing out wide in a totally different style to ours. Playing wide for us in a 4-3-3 allows him to cut inside so much more, and perhaps not have to do so much of the tracking back.

You are suggesting ways our formation suits him more, This has not had an effect yet. He was poor pre-season and and poor so far. Our lowest ranked player.

It's odd because he's played over 100 games in the Prem for Villa so surely he should be decent. At times he doesn't look like a footballer, like Bragstad didn't.

If he turns it around and does well for us I will hold my hand up, but it doesn't look good.

Poor pre season? 2 goals and 2 assists wasn't it?
