CumbrianRam
Blackpool striker Jason Euell was interviewed by police after boss Ian Holloway claimed the striker was racially abused by Stoke fans. Holloway revealed the incident after his side bowed out of the Carling Cup in the third round with a 4-3 defeat. "There was one horrible moment when a racist remark was made to Jason by one supporter. I hope the fellow is banned for life," said Holloway. "It is disgusting, but the stewards believed Jason and threw the guy out." Holloway added: "People around the fellow should have said they were not putting up with what was said. It is wrong. "I saw Jason's reaction and tried to calm him down. I thought these days were gone but maybe I am being naive. "We do not want anything like that. Jason is a footballer - it should not matter about the colour of his skin." Blackpool succumbed to a fine Stoke fightback during the game, losing to an injury-time strike having been 2-0 up at one stage.[url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_cup/8270064.stm]http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/l...cup/8270064.stm Sickening if true.
