Brammie Steve
I am definitely not a Villa supporter but I can't help feeling a bit sorry for anyone who's bought a season ticket already.Liverpool have bought the best player Villa had who saved them from relegation, Christian Benteke.Last week their excellent captain, Zelph, surprised everyone by refusing to sign for Mercenary City as he did not want to be bench warmer.Today Zelph has signed for City.Have season ticket holders been sold goods under false pretences. should they be offered compensation or a refund? How many other teams dupe their own supporters like this?Ain't you glad you support the Rams? You should support your team, no matter what.I'm struggling to see how it's duping their supporters anyway. The Delph release clause seems a little cheap but £32million for Benteke is good business. They're obviously going to buy replacements.

Alph
It's Villa though. So its funny. They were always going to struggle to keep Benteke. Thought they'd done enough to keep Delph. Gave him everything they could and he can't use the excuse he did it to get international recognition. He's going to get splinter on his backside. Sorry Steve. Don't like any Brum big clubs. Always gets a bit spicy with them. It's that belt of teams... 2 Sheffield clubs, East Midlands clubs, WBA, Wolves, Villa, Brum and Stoke.
Bris Vegas
To be fair, Villa are also strengthening well. They should take a leaf out of Southampton's book, though losing Delph for only 8m must hurt when you see Lallana go for 25m.Idrissa Gueye, Jordan Amavi and Sergi Darder are three decent signings for them (not all completed). And talks they're after Roma attacking midfielder Adem Ljajic shows they have ambitions.Don't write them off just yet. Selling Benteke and Delph for 40m combined could still work out well. Day
Both Delph and Benteke had release clauses triggered, not much Villa could do.Lessons should be learnt by this, not with Benteke but Delph, £8m when you look at other transfers is pretty cheap, could have doubled that in this market.Benteke fee is probably about right, can't have many complaints on that one, if Villa fans were being honest he should be at a club further up the table.Had some good players over the years, can never keep hold of them, just new owner with a bit of money willing to put in, Villa shouldn't be fighting relegation each season
robglosta
It's a poor decision though, for Delph. I can't see him making too many waves for them, whereas at Villa he could have been a hero.

Van der MoodHoover
Sherwood was recently quoted as saying the potential sale of the club had fallen through so there are behind the scenes issues as well at Villa

JakartaRam
Whilst I will never support Delph's chopping and changing attitude I do have some sympathy for him. Most people like to have something to show for their work at the end of their careers , how many medals would he win at Villa ? City will win something while he is there. Being a hero at Villa or medals to show the grand children ?Not everyone is Lord Jake unfortunately
IlsonDerby
I like Delph as a player. If he can't realistically be fighting fernandinho or fernando for that second pivot role in their midfield then something is wrong with the manager.

Football clubs are expected to do business, in and out, during a transfer window. It happens.

I would, when I had time to think about it.
uttoxram75
While some sympathy for Villa fans might be eked out of this situation its important to remember that Villa fans, on the whole, are very fickle and mardy and think they're the Man United of the midlands. Sam_DCFC_1994
City have bought in Delph and sold Milner, i don't see this as good business, id much rather have the latter.Milner for me was one of the most consistent City players last season, vastly experienced and can cover several positions.
