my lad is a Leicester City Fan, now I need some creative ideas on how to convert him !!!

he is really getting into Football and all his friends are Leicester Fans (living in Leicester), now electric shock treatment would be an extreme reaction and accidently putting DVD's of the derby greats isn't working ?

come on lads lets get those thinking caps on !!!

Sounds like it's too late. How old is he?

he is 6, I took him to a sports shop and he wanted a full Leicester strip, I bought him a generic blue kit with boots, shinnies and socks that are huge (we have all been there), he has come to Pride Park with me and was more interested in the pigeons

simple. take him to games. One game won't be enough, but when he makes a connection of "Daddy and Derby", it'll mean something to him.

I shall sit in a higher stand so he can have a cracking view, we have visited numerous times but I generally sit at ground level.

6 is nothing, my lad wanted to support florest at 6. Then chelsea and whoever else was top of the league.

After telling him he wouldn't ever get to see them play or have any football shirts bought for him, like he would if he supported Derby, he soon changed his tune.

Getting expensive now mind.  But worth it. He's just turned 11 and he's a Ram.

yeah all honesty when I took him last year he was intimidated by the atmosphere.

I refused to go into the Leicester store at the ground even though I passed by it the other day, I made the excuse that I have took stick from Leicester fans for a very long time and the only place i'll sit is in the away end :p

I don't think there's much you can (or should) do at this stage. When I was that age, I followed Man U because all my mates did. As time went on, I listened to my dad & took more of an interest in DCFC. By the time we all about 12, I was Derby through & through and most of my mates were fans of one of the Sheffield clubs.

Also depends where you are geographically. Growing up in the peak district & close to Chesterfield, Sheffield and probably as near to Manchester as Derby, there wasn't the pull in any one direction to support a particular club.

Tell your lad Santa is a Derby County fan and will look after him on Christmas Day. If that cuts no ice with him tell him Santa will die if he continues to support Leicester and all the little boys and girls in the world will get no presents and it wil be all his fault.

I reckon that'll do the trick. ;)

This.

What you want to do is hold back all love and affection and only show him any attention when you watch Derby together. He'll soon start begging for a season ticket here

I'm Festa born and bred but as has been said take him to games and he'll be a ram. All my friends growing up were obviously leic's fans. But my grandad was a season ticket holder and my dad was a supporter and started taking me to games in the mid 80's. It just came naturally that i would be a ram.

Oh and i'm arf derby any road as me mams from belper
