just reading through the 74-75 30 year anniversary the DET put out. Apparently we played arsenal in that season and arsenal had two players sent off for dissent. One was going to get a caution for kicking the ball away and then said something to the ref which turned it to red. I

had no idea the booking for kicking the ball away was in the laws back then - I remember a big thing about it being enforced when I was a kid.

I'm just watching the highlights of the Sunderland Leeds 1973 Cup Final on BBC2.

It brings back what a dirty, disgusting, cheating pile of sh1te they were. Bremner would have been booked 6 or 7 times by todays standards.Scum the lot of them.

I have felt sorry for their fans in recent years, but my bile is rising again.

I was gobsmacked when at the Assembly Rooms meet the legend / tribute to Brian Clough thing, When asked to name the best player he played with, Archie Gemmill said " Billy Bremner" and meant it.

i'd have had him frog marched out of there.

In a pre-match meet and greet/talk, Dave Mackay told us that he and Bremner became close friends.

i recall the ball hit a woman full on the face just below the c stand.  Can't remember the arsenal guys name but after he was sent off he went straight over to see how she was
