Gypsy Ram
19 game lost in 86 games under Mac in charge at DCFC. Thought I'd share to you guys. Great stats, but does not matter. The last 13 games showed anything but understanding and cohesion between the players and Steve. But "that's football". Ramarena
I know you can't judge everything on stats, but if you take out caretaker managers, then Mac has the best win and loss ratio of any manager in the history of our club, even better than Clough (snr). Kernow
He's not going due to his record but the way the job link speculation was handled. There's no point having a successful manager at this level as they'll inevitably be linked elsewhere. And if that speculation isn't handled well, and affects team morale, performance and subsequently the collapse we suffered, it suggests something needs changing. i-Ram
would I have to move my freezer? That depends on another number of statistical matters, which all pale into significance if you are going to tell me that your freezer is stored in your best mate's garage, or something similar. In truth your domestic arrangements are of little concern to me, but I would wish you always to be comfortably warm. Might I therefore suggest you buy a calor gas heater or electrical equivalent for your kitchen area. A freezer operates at -18C, so with the difference you would still be bloody hot. Albert
Statistics are no substitute for judgement. Not my quote, can't remember who said it but so trueStatistics aren't something that make sense in a vacuum. You need to present them with context, and some model by which to argue a point. By simply stating a state, of the sort: "Sobbie Ravage has a passing accuracy of 85%, while Barren Dent has a passing rate of only 75%" is meaningless on it's own. "When I eat fudge on match day, we win 57% of the time" is equally meaningless. Statistics aren't something of value on their own, much as opinions aren't. It's when they've put together and used in a coherent manner that they actually have some value. Albert
Doubt it. A freezer operates at -18C, so with the difference you would still be bloody hot. Let's say for Standy McAverage that the head is roughly 5kg, the feet are about 3kg and the body is roughly 72kg. If the head is at 250°C, the body is at a nice 22°C room temperature and those pesky feet are at -18°C, then we can actually figure out a weight adjusted average for them. (5/80)*250°C+(3/80)*(-18°C)+(72/80)*22°CWhich comes to around ~35°C. Depending on activity though it might start feeling a bit uncomfortably warm at that temperature, but relaxing with your head in the oven, that on average could well be argued to be comfortably warm. I know what you're thinking though, do the feet really have that much of an impact being in the freezer? Well, not being in there it would bump the average right up to ~36°C, so you can make your own mind up on that one. While statistics can be extremely valuable they are also notorious for being a means that people use to make false and misleading arguments. So Big Mac has the best win/ loss ratio - but his last 13 games were disastrous and are the ones that matter not what happened last season Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/19065-stat-of-the-day/#findComment-816702 Share on other sites
