eddie
Folk are cracking on about the Kiwi bowlers but some of their bowling was rubbish. It was a foolhardy decision by McCullum to put England in - yet at 30-4 an England total under 200 looked more than likely, given the all-too-frequent 'collapse of Englandesque proportions' we suffer under pressure. Root and Stokes took the game to them - and then away from them. The loss of Buttler to the final delivery of the day was a huge blow though. If England get past 400, then it would be very difficult to see anything beyond a home victory.

froggg
England 25-3 Cook out caught behind for 16 attempting hook after Ballance just out caught in slips Captain Irresponsible again . KP never plays silly shots and gets out. We just aren't very good and KP wouldn't all of a sudden make us into a decent sideGreat team spirit, apparently. Which is far more important than scoring runs. This lot couldn't run an effing bath.Any thoughts now?

AndyinLiverpool
Any thoughts now?Yes. The top order is a mess. So much so that they have to put a batsman in at 8. They can't have much faith in the batting line up. A team that needs be be bailed out by its middle and lower order is one that will be out for double figures soon enough. Gary Teale
To be fair the conditions were good for bowling and they did bowl well pitching it up but then England played how we want them to, young talented players who played attacking cricket. I don't see a problem having lots of players who can bat, the issue is we don't have a good spinner and they don't seem to want to gamble on Rashid who I haven't seen that much of. eddie
The way it's going, three decent partnerships sandwiched between two collapses of Englandesque proportions will leave the game pretty finely balanced at this stage.
