MackworthRamIsGod
I'm just concerned this is all down to transfer budgets.i have this feeling that McLaren has requested certain assurances in terms of budgets and we can't match them.if Clement comes in I don't expect much cash will be spent and certainly don't expect to see Bent or Ince join us. mcsilks
Not concerned in the slightest. Actually quite excited. There aren't that many managers/coaches who could have failed to get that team into the playoffs.I find it quite truly remarkable that the man is still revered by many on here.Just what has the man done to make him wanted? Cardifframs
I'm not concerned at allI think in Sam Rush,we have a man who has the best interests of derby at heart, and will take no 5hitIf Clement does come in,he has contacts in Madrid,PSG etc etc Im sure we have a very healthy transfer budget, and loans from quality clubs Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/19038-mclaren-article-in-the-daily-telegraph/#findComment-815023 Share on other sites

TopRam
Nixon vs Percy. With meL Morris as chairman too? He's one of our own ?im sure with Morris investing our budget isn't too shabby, just think rush is tierd off McClaren thinking he's bigger than the club. In Rush we trust Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/19038-mclaren-article-in-the-daily-telegraph/#findComment-815026 Share on other sites

With the team we had, our downturn in form was unaceptable, injuries or not.Normally i'd agree, but the Eustace/Thorne/Mascarell triple whammy coupled with Martin was a tad unlucky. I still think he should have managed a top 6 finish though. MACKWORTHRAM
We have got a Derby fan worth half a billion quid about to take over as Chairman and £10-£15 million worth of assets in Hendrick and Hughes. Absolutely no chance McClaren wants to go because of the lack of budget. I think McClaren wants to see if Newcastle stay up before deciding whether to go there next season and Rush has just had enough of the uncertainty. Like another poster said with that squad we should have got promoted. Fair enough we were very unlucky with injuries. But to go from 5 points clear at the top to 8th is quite frankly unacceptable.Maybe they have had this meeting in America and though "You know what Steve really isnt all that after all, if these clubs are coming in for him then he can go"Im happy if he stays and im happy if he goes.Paul Clement would be a brilliant replacement in my opinion. Gypsy Ram
No worries head over hearts in mind Steve is out . They have their own position to care about and how they look after number one. It's just after his failure -- Steve's position is untenable, but rush could just hang on. Because he's the boss and can blame Steve. But fail next season then the wheels are truly off. Good luck next season lads. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/19038-mclaren-article-in-the-daily-telegraph/#findComment-815030 Share on other sites
Posh Ram
Clement is an upgrade on McClaren. Warburton also.I was disappointed with Steve's performance this season and extremely worried by our capitulation. At the end of the day, I trust Sam Rush, and if he gets sacked, I'll have no complaints. If he stays on, I'll support Rush's decision and hope that Mac can turn the ship around.I'd be surprised if he were sacked though, it would be a bit of a risk when he's not done a bad job, is liked by most of the fans, and has a decent track record. I'm not convinced the owners will take that kind of risk after the mediocrity of Clough. I agree with you on the unlucky part for losing his 3 players that play in that one key position. Then surely, if you are a coach that has managed at the very highest level, you can change your system to suit the players you have.I just don't buy it. TopRam
Would off loved to see McClaren take us up, and he might still, but the club is bigger than him, this summer is bigger than him, this all needs sorting so we can get our plan off the summer in action, and if it means steve going then get him gone fast.
