Wolfie
I'd love to see Newcastle get relegated but would rather be competing against Hull next season Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/19036-sunderland/#findComment-815139 Share on other sites
ramsbottom
Considering they're partially responsible for our collapse this season & Mike Ashley is a big f*t, sweaty c**t I'd love it, LOVE IT, if Newcastle went down!!! Unfortunately, due to Hull's inability to hit water when falling out of a boat I can see the Geordies surviving by the skin of their teeth. I only hope LVG puts out the kids and Allardyce still has the hump towards his previous employers and sends his side out all guns blazing. Fingers crossed... unclej
**** Advocaat had them lined up perfectly. It was a masterclass in defence. Something I havent seen at Derby since Wright. It showed a complete understanding of the job that needed to be done and the style in how to do it. A far cry from our situation in the second half of last season when our sincere hope was simply to score one more than the others. Stive Pesley
Nah - Arsenal only needed a point, so they didn't have the motivation. Easy to defend against a team that doesn't *need* to win Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/19036-sunderland/#findComment-815299 Share on other sites

It wasn't be design that Sunderland didn't lose, it was through lack of initiative, poor finishing, bad decisions, reluctance to actually shoot etc which cost Arsenal the win! Wolfie
Easy to defend against a team that doesn't *need* to win Like Home vs Reading?. Yeah, piece of cake. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/19036-sunderland/#findComment-815383 Share on other sites
Kernow
Like Home vs Reading?. Yeah, piece of cake. Well it's a lot harder to defend against a side who needs a goal! Hence why young William purposely passed it short to Raul "the tortoise" Albentosa of all people. It was so hard to them to defend that Obita even tried pulling Russell's shorts down but tripped him and hey presto we got a penalty. The prolific Darren Bent will surely score... won't he? Brammie Steve
Arsenal just couldn't break them down. THAT'S how to defend. Nine men side by side on the goal line, the other 2 crowd surfing over their heads? Lord_Ram
the same effect can be achieved by merely sticking Andy Reid in goal Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/19036-sunderland/#findComment-815485 Share on other sites
