Wisdom doesn't get in WBA's team, yet Rodgers is willing to make him his first choice and pretty much only fit RB at the club?

This is a manager who has spent upwards of £70mil on Lambert, Lallana, Lovren and Markovic. I don't believe for one second he wouldn't go after a replacement RB regardless of how Wisdom does if he gets a chance at LFC.

to be fair, all four of those players are good, just that going to Liverpool is almost career-suicide and always has been!

he sausaging well is!

If ever there's an example of a defender being picked on everything other than his defensive ability, Johnson is it!

I cannot believe that buffoon has England caps and I don't!

Firstly, Johnson is nowhere near as bad defensively as everyone makes out.

Secondly, he's a very talented footballer which you're effectively just dismissing as irrelevant. Don't mistake this for me saying that technical ability is more important than defensive ability, but there's a mix to be found.

It's just the popular opinion to say that (insert young talented player at lower level) is better than (established England international). Wisdom is good, but he's not better than Glen Johnson.

not having it mate, you've found my achilles heel, the player that makes my blood boil, the one that I rate lower than any right back EVER to play for my country. Wisdom has some defensive instinct. I personally think that Johnson has played his whole career out of position.

So a player that has had one decent season at a championship club then failed to hold down a place in a bottom half premier league team is better than a player that has been a premier league regular for 7 or 8 years and also has 54 full international caps?

For me, Wisdom is the better "defender". I actually think that Johnson has the attributes to play that quarterback role that Gerrard played last season. I have watched Johnson closely, and his reading of the game is woeful, he's always a mistake waiting to happen, and his defending is poor and ineffective, a bit like Jordan Stewart for us a few years back. He has qualities, but none of them help him in his bread and butter role as a full back. I suppose at centreback, his aerial ability might have helped.

Johnson's career is on the downward trajectory, Wisdom should be the opposite.

As I say, just my opinion though. But I judge defenders on defending, as a pre-requisite, if they fail on that, not worth looking at other attributes.

You may be right but do you not find it odd that none of the manager he has played under have picked up on these flaws and played him as a midfielder or winger if all of his good attributes are on the attacking side of his game.
