Some great moments Forest 2-1 being the best:

But we have moved on now. We are looking for better than him and more consistent players. He was too injury prone.

After watching that it looks to me we have just released our best penalty taker ........best wishes too him and tthanks for some great memories especially against the gumps!!!!

Good luck to him. Might end up back at Chesterfield. Can't see him going back to the blunts.

Yeah thinking the same.

i always liked Jamie, even if he frustrated me at times.  He's got an attitude and a half which will serve him well in his next job.  Good luck to him.

Always liked Ward. Don't think he's what we need for where we want to head. Injuries seem to have taken their toll on his pace.

He used to be a wily player. Weaving in and out of little gaps. Now its feint, feint smash it. No real invention. Injured too much too

Hope a new clubs can breath life back into him again. All the best to him.

Was a time when passing to Jamie was the only way we got forward.

Some of you have short memories as

He scored 9 goals before he got injuried this season he was banging them in for fun.

7 goals

He was always going to get injured, and will continue to get injured with an increasing regularity in the future.

We've seen the best of Jamie Ward, he isn't going to get any better from this point onwards.

Wouldn't have played Lingard infront of him though.

Another one who seemed frustratingly injury prone, although when fit and firing, he was great.

Doesn't surprise me, as we're a bit over-subscribed in the wide attacking midfielder department. Also you have to think the writing is on the wall when the club get loan players in for your position and they're coming off the bench in advance of you..

And what about when he came back?

FUMING!!!

ok ward is injury prone but when fit he is a great player, he frightens full backs and we have seen so many times when he is on his game that he's unplayable. Start of this season he was on fire and i just cant believe we would release him!

Wheres the business sense in that? We could of got money for him surely, i'ld pay 500k and think i had a bargain so i just don't understand this one little bit.

After Mclaren staying and us releasing a good player, already i'm worried for next season and its only may.

Have faith. By releasing Ward, a first team player, surely means they have something in the pipeline to replace him. There are better players out there and to progress as a football club you must replace deadwood and stalling players with more exciting, better players.

Ward has been a good player for us and I wish him all the best but we are past his level IMO. I no longer see him on our bench and feel confidence that he can change the game if we brought him on. I felt that way about Ibe etc though. He's injury prone, so relying on him as a starter just can't happen. And his style of knocking it past the defender and getting round him with sheer willpower is slowly becoming less effective.

I trust our coaching staff, and I believe they made the right call.

That lad Tom Ince would fit the bill.

:D

Players leave, others join. So long as Ward's replacement is any two (preferably all three) out of the following three

a) better

b) younger

c) fitter

it's all good.

Ince would be fantastic. We'd have Ince & Russell, I'd like a loanee as a squad player to push those two. We also have Calero amongst others to challenge from the U21's. I feel that would be enough. Get that done early and we can spend the rest of the window suring up the goalkeeper and defence. We still also need at least one CDM, either loanee or permanent. Possibly two if Eustace isn't on the retained list.
