Dangerous
I can honestly say I cannot remember when the rivalry was greater than now.To be honest it is more hatred than rivalry now.The factors are amazing. We have Nigel Clough as manager and two fo**st "fans" as players in Shaun Barker and Kris Commons.Commons courts more controversy being an ex player for the red dogs. fo**st have billy davies, robert earnshaw and lee camp.Ex manager and ex players for The Rams.(They also have dexter blackstock but he doesnt really count as he was a loan player at Derby and he has a gay name).nathan tyson has now emerged as public enemy number one for Derby fans, whilst fo**st fans cant make up their mind if they hate Commons or Savage the most. Nigel Clough probably wasnt very wise when he stated that he and his family were Derby people and always have been. This has had some people in nott**gham wanting the statue of his father removed and insisting that if they get a new ground there will no longer be a Brian Clough stand. There are positives to this increased hatred. The media will probably pay more attention to this local "Derby" and treat it the same as the Sheffield Wednesday v United games etc.The negatives are we will have to live with poxy 1 pm kick offs, and increased stewards and police acting hard in front of fans. I am hoping we draw each other in the FA cup again,if not then roll on the next game at Pride Park Stadium.

Perky1106
In terms of general hatred, I think the tension was greater in the 80s. Though in terms of football, the recent transfers and how close we are in the League, the rivalry has never been more intense.
Dangerous
I think it was a different scenario completely in the 80s.Hooliganism was at its peak.It is different now, police have more control, although I refuse to say the words police and intelligence in the same sentence. Football is more popular and everything is televised. My mate lives in Oslo and the shenannigans at the end of the match on saturday was the main item regarding British football, on tv over there. It got more coverage than Man utd v Arsenal and the rest of the premiership. Derby fo**st hatred was always a fan thing, but now there is definate tension and ill-feeling between the clubs themselves.
mcapple
I don’t hate Derby and I have no problem spelling it correctly either. Most of the people on this site are sound some are even funny. I don’t know of any fans who would not want to have a stand named after Brian Clough at the CG or in a new stand. I also don’t know any fans wanting the statue of Brian Clough removed. If there is they must be in the minority. I don’t like Savage at all, I appreciate the skill of Commons and understand money talks in football. He has no loyalty to Derby like most players. I still rate and respect Nigel Clough and was really happy for my son to get his autograph last Saturday. He may well be a Derby man but he seemed relaxed and prepared to sign his autograph for all forest fans after the game whilst keeping the Derby players waiting on the bus. We should not let it get out of and we should enjoy the banter as well as the excitement, cos it is very exciting at the moment whether you are winning or losing. Dangerous
I agree. What ive heard regarding the statue and stand came from a fo**st(its a habit) fan at work. I agree that it must be the minority, and very small minded. Im loving it at the moment, even though we lost on Saturday,I cant wait til the return
MrOrdinary
it is pretty hardcore i no a load of kop regulars at anfield, who wish there games where as exciting as ours even met some forest fans down here in essex who felt there need to show they were forest, cause i was wearing my rams shirt. and its not the first time ive had troupble from forest fans down here which i find dead odd! but the new found rivalry as long as it stays away from fighting is oonly a good thing
MattyTheRam
Its always been there, just getting seriously heated. I've always hated them, if your bought up with constant watchin Derby, an tales of my old man bein in trouble with them in the 70s and 80s, you tend to bleed black and white and hate um even more. Boycie
Have you seen all the pictures that the forest fans have made up showing Tyson with his flag in different locations? You have to laugh, some are very good, some are *****, but the majority are quite well done.

bakeri666
There is alreadt a pic of someone impaled on the flag pole... but it wasn't Tyson... If you want to see what M.M is up against as your resident photoshopper then a lot of them are [url=http://forestforever.forumotion.com/gallery/Tyson-the-Legend/Tyson-the-Legend-cat_c14.htm]here If you want to make a decent 'comeback' picture my first suggestion would be Robbie Savage with the scarf round Nathan's neck in a garotting stylee... shouldn't be to hard - from what i remember RS waved the scarf holding both ends, and lifted it quite a few times - there has to be an image somehwere thats usable... if not... then... well its your bloomin team you figure something out
