Deano feeling sharp

Leacock looking for a way back into the 11, sounds like good news to me as the reality of the championship looks like its catching up on buxton.

"I feel good and I feel sharp, but obviously I will have to continue to work hard because I've missed so much football.

"It has been the most frustrating part of my career without a doubt but I'm a strong person and the experience will make me a better person and a better player.

"Being out for such a long time certainly makes you appreciate the game more and I can't wait to get back in action in a competitive game.

"To be honest my biggest challenge now is getting back into our first team, because we have good competition for places here.

"Miles (Addison) and Jake (Buxton) have the shirts at the moment and they deserve to keep them. For me and Shaun Barker it's a case of staying fit and training hard and if our chance comes then we have to take it.

"I felt good in the game the other night against Marbelli and the warm weather training over here in Spain has been excellent.

"Don't get me wrong, it's been hard work, but a change of surroundings can sometimes give you a lift and I think that's been the case for a couple of us in the squad."

i think nige will have some very tough decisions regarding the defence soon addisson can't be dropped surely but i do think barker need to come in soon he was a top defender last season and i think deano will do well too but we'll just have to wait and see atleast we have good cover ther for once

It's a tough one as Addison has been a rock and you would never of guessed Buxton has moved up 3 leagues, although after the break I think it's time to start Barker and Leacock for a decent spell and see how they get on.

Isit just me or when barker warms up he looks completley diffrent with brown hair:confused:

don't think that would do his confidence much good. i really rate him and think he could be a really good defender. he's not really done anything wrong to be dropped for, the only thing i don't like is his lack of pace but he reads the game quite well and you dont really need pace if you can do that

He is a gutsy player who will do well, a type of Lee Carsley type who gets on with his job without any fuss.

I think he will do well, but, I think it will also do him good to be taken out the firing line soon to take stock of what he's done so far.

Saying that, he's having 2 weeks off now, Jesus, we have a right dilemma in defence don't we? Leacock, Barker, Addison, Buxton all playing for 2 places.

Barker in for Conners could be a start.
