Davies scan shows no serious damage

DERBY County forward Steve Davies has an outside chance of being fit following the two-week international break.

Davies was carried off on a stretcher in the second half of the home victory over Plymouth Argyle and left Pride Park Stadium on crutches with his left leg heavily strapped.

The injury looked serious but the 21-year-old underwent a scan last night and has suffered no serious damage to his ankle.

The severe brusing and soreness will take time to settle, and he will miss Saturday's clash with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

"DERBY County will dip into the loan market for a striker this week if Steve Davies' injury sidelines him for a lengthy spell."

"If he is going to be out for any length of time we will need cover," said manager Nigel Clough."

I beg to differ I think we will not be looking for another striker.
