I remember as a kid bursting into tears when Goddard went to Millwall...their partnership was making people sit up and take notice of us. Saunders, definitely a bona fide ledge ... Top goalscorer three seasons on the trot, scored at a good rate in the top flight in a team that really started to struggle ... blistering pace, and some spectacular finishing. I remember him absolutely roasting Paul Parker vs QPR at the BBG and burying it past Seaman, and his thumping volley v Man City when he picked Shilton's clearance out of the sky ... so many stunning memories of Deano. Goddard, i would say cult hero...silky, Sheringham-like if you need a comparison ... absolute class...his lob against Everton ... as sublime as you like.
