  • He has signed but supposedly there is already a problem. Seems to get into training first every morning and puts a towel down where he wants to change.

The brighter the boots, the better the player. Good enough for me.

I know nothing about this lad but he appears to be another addition to the development squad. The under 21 overhaul continues!

Sky Sports understands Derby County are poised to sign German youngster Tom Koblenz from Hoffenheim.

Hoffenheim midfielder Koblenz has been on trial at Derby and featured in their recent Under 21s win over Middlesbrough.

The 19-year-old was a regular in the Hoffenheim Under 19s side last season, helping them win the Bundesliga Under 19 title.

A number of English clubs have been credited with an interest in Koblenz, but Derby are set to win the race for his signature.

Koblenz has impressed Steve McClaren and his coaching staff during his stint at the club and they are ready to push through a deal for the midfielder.

Koblenz is seen as one very much for the future at Derby with the midfielder expected to start in the Under 21s before working his way into the first team.

He played against Boro, I didn't go and I don't know how he did.

He seems to have a good reputation on paper, mind. A German youth international, U19 Bundesliga champion...etc

Saw him at the u21's game, very big confident on the ball and seems to enjoy spreading it out wide to the full backs! also didnt seem to be scared to make tackle but obviously this is only from the one u21 game I saw last week against boro, did not seem out of place in the team so why not give the lad a go :D

I like the direction this club is heading in.

young talent coming in from every corner.. It's hard not to be excited for the future.. Just wait another 4-5 years.. We'll be offloading like Southampton.

Southampton are having a fire sale so that their football-hating bitch owner can pocket the cash before selling the club. Well, that's one side of the argument. The other is that they have actually spent

Any footage of the game and this lad on a dcfc shirt.

Hardly touched the ball in the U21 win last week and didn't venture forward much protecting the back four. Impossible to tell though from one game. McClaren would have seen him in training though and that would have convinced him...

Never really heard too much about him tbh. However, after looking up some stuff about him I think this would be a pretty good signing. If SM thinks he is worth signing then that is good enough for me.

Loving these signings long may it continue.. You'd not here much regarding signing under 21's especially players who were emant to go else where seems were winning the race a lot!

Having grade one status on the academy is helping a lot really optimistic !

Don't know a single thing about the lad but what a top signing, he'll be playing for Germany next season.

I prefer the u21s to the 1sts

Well Duracell sold him to Cheltenham on his champ manager game, so he can't be that good.

It could be a factor, but our academy status is not the reason we're signing international u-21s

We could technically have signed any of these players before Steve McClaren came in, well before category one. It's having such a good coach and scouting network that is mainly the reason behind it.

Didn't do much in the u21 game.

Had fluorescent boots on though.
