Doesn't matter if youre playing for England or Liverpool, the player still has the same ability and influence on the game! I used that example as being a kid and seeing Gerrard practically win the champions league for his boyhood team was awe inspiring. 3-0 down yet Stevie didn't give in.

Carrack is 31/32?

Not too sure who will fill them for now. More than likely be Wilshere.

This is the midfield for the u21's.. "af25e8a7f89623977d3f94e10a9394b4" alt="af25e8a7f89623977d3f94e10a9394b4">

None of them stand out if I'm being perfectly honest.

Missing a certain Will Hughes...

Another overrated player gone. When other nation's run rings around us in midfield, at least it will be with players with a lower profile to go with it.

He was utterly useless in the World Cup.

Someone give me his top 10 performances in an England shirt, let's hear how world class he was....

Gerrard has had no influence for England whatsoever.

Why do players retire from international duty? Obviously I have some idea of the reasons, but I disagree with them;

Your agent can get you a better contract at your club if they know you'll have no international commitments. - Greedy.

You will be too old for the next major tournament. - Selfish. Help the team qualify if you're needed.

You feel there are better players coming through and you are about to lose your place. - Man up.

You are upset that you've been snubbed or played out of position. - Man up.

You no longer feel it is worth the hassle. - Man up. Slightly more understandable though as the English public offer terrible "support" to our international players.

There's one quick fix that I'd like to see implemented to cut this behaviour down. No come backs. Once you retire, that's it, you're done. You will never be considered for selection again. I was furious that Jamie "I'm too good to sit on the bench" Carragher got to go to the World Cup in 2010. It set a damaging precedent and will make this nonsense all the more common. You don't retire from international football, you just stop getting picked.

No influence on England? Remember that goal against USA? The goal against Ukraine to qualify us?

Hate to say it but England aren't world class! none of our players could make the bench of Germany! Hart could probably clinch 3rd keeper!

In my opinion Gerrard has done a lot more for England that Carrick, Huddlestone etc.
