Leeds are set to announce the 2nd worst managerial appointment in history after Pearce at Forest

Dave Hockaday.

Sacked by Forest Green Rovers in October 2013 after losing the first 7 out of 8 games and spent 4 years there amounting to nothing.

I genuinely cannot think of a worse or senseless appointment. Although I do doubt he'll do as bad with Leeds than Jewell did with us.

Leeds fans must be worried about relegation next season.

Some lower league managers fail because the players aren't technically adept enough to execute the manager's vision, Peschisolido, for example, so I wouldn't COMPLETLEY write this guy off. But it does seem a very odd one, so I'm going to laugh at them when I've got the chance.

another clueless owner

"The Italian also reiterated that he wanted a coach rather than a manager to replace McDermott.

"I want someone to take care of the preparation of the team, the training, the tactics and so on," he said.

"Not the recruitment or the contracts, which I will take care of. The job is a coach, not a manager, which is an important difference."

So this is the best candidate that applied for the job??

Yes. I got down to the last two in the interviews but apparently my two Champions League wins and League title after taking Stafford Rangers from non-league to the top inside 10 years on Football Manager wasn't quite as good as this fella's achievements...

In fairness, Billy Davies would have never of even entertained the thought of working for Cellino. He also doesn't fit the 'coach' type role that was needed.

I'd rather have Billy back, 100%, over Dave Hockaday.

As others have said, Cellino is playing a dangerous game and, for me, he has got this one wrong.

At least he's honest and not like Fawaz, he owns the club, if he wants to sign the players with his money it's up to him, if a coach comes in and willing to accept those terms then fair play. I imagine not many do and that's why he's had to scrape the barrel.
