Guest Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Absolute disgrace which The FA are trying to distance themselves from. The only thing that made me smile about this story was a quote from Joey barton:- Barton said on Twitter: "£90 for the new England shirt is taking the mickey out of the fans. When will it stop? Appalling. In my opinion. Football again allows commercialism to eat away at its soul. Something has got to give." The answer Joey is - when clubs stop paying ridiculously high wages to very average players such as yourself.
Derby_Daz Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Fair play to Joey for speaking out for fans. What do you expect him to do, refuse the money and play for the minimum wage.
Day Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 £49.99 Sports Directhttp://www.sportsdirect.com/nike-england-home-shirt-2014-371209?colcode=37120901 £9.99 in September
Derby_Daz Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Is that not a replica and more of a cheaper imitation or stadium shirt as they call it.

No but nor do I expect to hear him trying to tell fans everything that is wrong with football when him and his fellow pros are one of the biggest problems.
Cisse Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Boycott that shirt. Besides it says just as much of England if there is a Rams shirt and Forest shirt side by side in the stands. If not more.

Yes you can go crazy and buy a shirt the players actually wear for £90 but you won't find them for sale hardly anywhere. If you look on eBay you can buy player issue shirts, training kits the lot for crazy prices.
ladyram Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Is that a statement or an advert?! Wouldn't evem pay 9 quid tbh.
Guest Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Wouldn't evem pay 9 quid tbh. Depends if I get 50% back if reaching the promised land!
ramsbottom Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 A story on DET says both Nike and the FA are saying they're not to blame for the high price. FOOK RIGHT OFF!!!
uttoxram75 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 The ones to blame for the high price will be the ones who buy it.
StaffsRam Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 £90 because they've got special 'cooling technology' in them. Yeah.....right, so basically holes. As others have pointed out there's a cheaper alternative at £50, which is in itself still a ripoff IMO, but it seems to be the going rate these days and people still b up them. Me, I'll be donning my Admiral 1982 shirt. It's got holes in it too.....

I'll be sticking with my 1990 Gazza 19 shirt.
AndyinLiverpool Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 You can get a season ticket at the European Champions for £104.
Day Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Flights and frankfurters will make it a tad more expensive
McRainy Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I'll be wearing my 2006 Italia shirt again. It has the designer armpit stains, peeling pumas and the badge is a star short, of course, but the memories will never fade. Forza Azzurri!
