petersimple
I had a dream last night about building a wall in house I lived in 15 years ago. The neighbour was also building a wall and his wall was much better than mine. I could see the neighbour had help and when I asked the neighbour's young boy who they had helping them he said it was Frans Thijssen. At that point Thijssen walked past me wearing a cowboy jacket. He was a player I never thought about and I only knew from his time at Ipswich. I saw him on TV in the 1970s and that was that. Why I should dream about him I don't know. I don't think I have had any dreams involving any other footballers, but I often dream that I am playing at the top level myself but I am just not good enough. The ball is always just out of my reach.

Some strange reference to cowboy builders that might mean something to you. Possibly the name Tyson?
petersimple
I think your analysis is very good. I certainly felt inadequate in the dream when I was trying cut breeze blocks in half with a bread knife.

I had a mate who did woodwork with a bread knife which creased me up.

Kokosnuss
Similar to one part of the first post... I have had a number of dreams where I'm on the pitch, playing for who I assume is Derby (I remember once having Idiakez pass me the ball) but whenever I get the ball I miscontrol it, my legs go heavy and I just cannot keep up with it, that old running through treacle sensation, like I'm completely knackered. The few times I do control it my attempt to kick it is just ridiculously feeble. Used to have similar dreams about being unable to move from the middle of the road as a car approaches. A few months ago I had a dream I can barely remember, but I know I got very, very angry and just had to punch something - I woke up just as I punched the wall by the bed, kicked the cat at the end of the bed a couple of times too. PrivateDerby
I played football (Steve Mac voice) in one of those hyper-realistic dreams where you feel everything, was the Christmas Day no mans land match! Scary it was. RamNut I'm always either flying, hiding my family from wronguns or getting stabbed... can't say the last two are my favourite.
