ramtique
Was shocked how Wigan's coach load of fans (pathetic support! ) still managed to out-sing us today.... I know there wasnt a lot to shout about for much of the game but the Ipro was like a morgue for first 75 mins. It's a 2 way street ... when the lads are struggling it's up to us fans to try and give them a lift and that just didn't happen today. Contrast that with the way the 6000 saw us home at Barnsley... Woodys woman
It was good to have 6,000 at Barnsley but I didn't think it was a great atmosphere there either to be honest

Jordy
Think this thread is a bit over the top. It was the worst atmosphere in recent games yes but then again it's the only home game we've lost recently, with very limited good play, of course it's not going to be great. It's still miles better than it was last season. There was certainly some chanting in the South stand and some spread to South-West Upper. Fair play to Wigan, fairly vocal today but then again, one of the few sides to have something to sing about at Pride Park.
Alpha
It's always ****. Can't blame the football anymore. Too cosy. Everyone will be buzzing on Sunday for a game that doesn't matter but today they go home moaning about the team lacking energy but they couldn't even muster a fart on a day we were 2nd and on a stunning run. Maybe if the place got rocking it might have woken the lads up a touch? Stop them feeling a bit leggy? Only need a slight excuse to boo but win5-1 v Blackpool in a top 6 clash? Meet Wigan on the back of an incredible run while 2nd in the league and the divisions top scorers? Nothing. The excuse now will be 'well all grounds are like it'. Whatever makes you happy. I'm sure nobody will enjoy the atmosphere on Sunday then?
Abu Derby
There was a period in the first half when I swear I heard a dropped pin. It was surreal.
sage
It's easy to sing Dale Cervace when we are 2-0 up but we need to sing when the players need us.
ChaddesdenRam
I was looking to the South Stand for inspiration and there was none Usually that part of the stadium is where most of the singing originates from.
Cisse
The atmosphere should be good every time win or lose. Especially now it's embarrassing if the team isn't getting the support first time they struggle in a long time. We are 4th at the moment for crissake. Mafiabob
I think people need to realise this is a national problem. Everyone nicks others songs when they do sing. Look at the national team. Sing the national anthem a few times and shout England and that's it. No originality anymore. Away days are more fun as you make a day of it. Home games majority if people are setting off just for match and trying to get home quick as possible. Also another problem is the rubbish that get spouts on certain social networking sites about " your support is rubbish etc" forever looking at peoples away support in photos etc and the incessant point scoring. Sorry to go off topic but I loved football debate when it used to be the 90 minutes in the pitch. Not what goes off when we are not near it! Don't get me wrong I love the banter but we as fans are more bothered about belittling teams support rather than chastising teams for rubbish play and what goes on on the pitch. Feel free to rip my lucid thoughts as always xx

knabby crackers
There was a period in the first half when I swear I heard a dropped pin. It was surreal. It was the pin holding up Rosler's blue silk thong, his elastic had snapped as he jumped out of his technical area and he had to borrow the pin from his mate the 4th official. Anag Ram
It's the first time I've been to a home game this season, though I have been to a few away games. I thought the noise was good at kick-off but thereafter the team lacked spark and the atmosphere matched the tension on the pitch. Maybe we need the England cricket team trumpeter! The Scarlet Pimpernel
In my opinion you can't manufacture an atmosphere. It is what it is. Our home support is no different to any other teams. I was in the East Stand. From my perspective I could hear our fans in the South Stand just as much if not more than the Wigan Taxi load.

The day we get a trumpet in is the day I had my season ticket back! It was wet, cold, everyone was tired and there's been to much football on recently. eddie
Much mirth and merriment in here about how many fans Wigan brought to the game - a damned sight more than we took to Middlesbrough, Cardiff and one or two other places last season. It's always struck me as a completely daft exercise trying to take the mickey out of the fans who are there by pointing out the fans who aren't. It's not 'pathetic support', ramtique.
