Perky1106
I actually don't mind them. They can only improve the site. At least they're not the awful ones on DET which stop the forum from loading. Is dcfcfans officially a business?
David
It's not a buisness no, I've signed up to a ad company so I get the pick of the ads. Hopefully I'l be swapping one for thetrainline, that way if members are booking trains for away trips they can click thorugh the banner so the site gets a small amount of commision usually around 3% of any purchases made from each sale within 30 days which goes towards the costs to run the site. I was going to have it in the footer of the site although changed my mind and placed it in the header as it also fills the White space.
Perky1106
Superb. The forum's on the up and it's running itself. As long as you don't downgrade to the Jive package ... for only £10,000 a year you can get a slow forum where ads clog up the page, as well as regular downtime, lack of user-friendliness and basic features. David
Not quite, licence renewal is due in October which I'l be upgrading to a owned licence that covers the site forever which will cost just over £100 I think it is, I'm just trying to see if I can generate any income from the site to go towards the licence fee, I'l probably take the ads down after that as I'd prefer to keep it ad free. Soon as I get accepted to thetrainline I'l swap the banner over, I've had a look at them already and it will blend into the header better as well making it less in your face.
