Don't know why they're that surprised, it was always going to be like this. Bale got them out of trouble single-handedly so many times last season, and what with half a new team's worth of players joining the first team this season, they need time.

No Bale + New players = patience.

AVB is a decent manager, albeit on the end of a few tonkings recently.

They are only 5pts off Champions League place without scoring loads, got to give the players time to settle in. New manager would want to rip the squad apart again.

I'm not sure that the managers sign the players at spurs.

Points wise they are not that far behind and if they expected to bring all those players in and instantly gel more fool them. Bad week but got to give him time.
The thing is did they really need to bring that many in??? It's alright thinking they'd bring them in to cover the amount of goals between them that Bale scored on his own but you can only play so many of them during one game. Just like the poisoned dwarf up the A52, it's ok wanting a big squad but you have trouble A - knowing your best XI and B - Keeping everyone happy. A lot of players would be happy playing 15 games a season at the Manchester clubs or Chelsea but not Spurs...
