davenportram
Burnley, reading, Leicester, forest defeats all under clough. Different team now. Bit Mclaren still hasn't managed to beat a top 6 team has he? Don't need to bring Clough into the debate really.

Dimmu
You're right. It was a shame because 9 times in a 10 you'd get away with a header that far out not being a flick on into the one spot Grant isn't able to reach. You'd normally get a chance to win the ball after that header. Could Grant have done any better? Rare and lucky goal, for sure. Wouldn't blame Grant at all, nothing wrong in his positioning. But still easily avoidable. Couple players should to play zone, not man mark.
eddie
They're not in the current top 6 So what? You said "McClaren hasn't beat A TOP 6 TEAM". Well, they were for a while.
Mostyn6
They're not in the current top 6 YES, because we beat them and knocked them out of the top six.
Mostyn6
Bit Mclaren still hasn't managed to beat a top 6 team has he? Don't need to bring Clough into the debate really. You have to bring the fact that a different manager was in charge because it is undoubtedly a factor in the debate, if people don't want his named brought into things, they shouldn't say ridiculous things and use stats/facts that his management was a factor in. Jayram
The 'we haven't beaten anyone in the top six' post is ridiculous. As has already been said four of those defeats came under the previous lame duck manager and the one under SM was against a team that has lost only twice this season and is full of Premiership players. I'd love to play any of them now - we have nothing to fear from any team in the top six with the confidence in the squad at the moment.
TigerTedd
What if we beat someone in the top 6 of the premier league, say Chelsea. Will that prove our credentials?
Tricky1884
DOES IT MATTER THE TOP SIX MOVES AROUND ALL THE TIME? I THINK ONLY QPR ARE BETTER THAN US ON PAPER BUT IT'S NOT THE BEST TEAM THAT ALWAYS WINS THE LEAGUE LOOK AT MAN UTD LAST SEASON. "LAME DUCK" - Wish we'd all stop talking about Clough negative or positive. Are not most of the players still Clough's signings. But Wisdom is our best footballer, Dawkins is doing a good job and Keane looks like he could be great. Whoever we have lost against or won lets see where we are at christmas and build. TroyDyer
Bit Mclaren still hasn't managed to beat a top 6 team has he? Don't need to bring Clough into the debate really. It was a valid point. That this side has only played 1 top 6 side, away from home. Don't need to get so precious about king Clough. I wasn't even having a go. Don't mention the war. Ramarena
Bit Mclaren still hasn't managed to beat a top 6 team has he? Don't need to bring Clough into the debate really. I don't like this. It's only the CURRENT top six, half of them may not be there at the end of the season or even at the end of xmas. It's only at the end of the season that they can truly declared the top six. If Leeds and Blackpool win next week and Reading and Florist lose, we will have beaten two top 6 sides, but if they drop out the week after do we have to return to saying we can't beat a top six side. As Eddie said we have beaten everyone outside the current top 6 and some that have in been in or around the top 6, so we are very consistent. trekkie_ram
For me the whole thing was an interesting statistical fact/anomaly, much like the very recent 'we're better than Barcelona'. It shouldn't be sparking this level of debate.

trekkie_ram
(Positive spin with facts!) In the last two games Derby County have WON every game, whereas St. Louis Rams have LOST every game (Negative spin with facts!) In the last two games Derby County have ONLY scored seven, whereas St. Louis Rams have scored TWENTY-THREE!!!
Guest
Context and timing. Derby have not lost a single game this season (in fact, we've only dropped 1 or 2 points) when we have played a team below us in the league AT THE TIME WE PLAYED THEM. I said that before yesterday's game ("It's hardly worth Blackpool getting off the team bus") - and so it transpired. Therefore given we will be top by xmas, mid jan at the latest, we wont lose another game, PL here we come ;-)
