Well, I'm looking forward to an evening with Sam Rush, hope he's buying.

If I had the energy, and you'd have said that a week ago, I might've put my skills to use and hoaxed a "the beers are on Sam Rush" bit of publicity.

When I was at college, back in about 1992/93, my mates for some inexplicable reason, they printed up some flyers for Antiques Roadshow at the Assembly Rooms in Derby. They put the flyers in coffee shops and on tables in the library, then forgot all about it.

About two weeks later, a load of grannies turned up with grandfather clocks, teddies and paintings. There was a massive outcry and my mate, being from 'privileged' upbringing, absolutely shat himself for months, even now, 20 years later, if I tell the story out loud, he hushes me.

Just back from this. It was a very tame affair with the most un-Paxman like interviewer feeding Rush pre agreed questions that he answered in the predictable way.

Main points of interest;

He thinks about 8 Championship clubs will fail FFP and he is pressing g for draconian punishments

He refused to mention Clough when talking about the change of manager, concentrating on how he brought McClaren in.

He says that McClaren was under contract

He also hinted that Billy Davies was behind Derby only getting 2,000 tickets, he didn't know yet how many Forest will get and the Redknapp is not to be trusted.

he thanked Nigel for all he'd done though.

In respect to what he insinuated regarding Billy, he wanted all away crowds limited to 2002 not just us, we will limited Forests allocation in isolation, unlike what they did to us.

The questions were not pre-agreed as two of our group's questions were asked and we only filled the slips in 5 minutes before it started. The interviewer had dozens of these slips in his hand and was constantly looking at them during the initial interview stage before the questions started. It is more likely that he had been told to avoid certain subjects.

In this regard it was a little disappointing but having been to the forum at the Royal Telegraph it was open questions there so there was no hiding.

I really like this guy, he doesn't take any prisoners and has come to do a job, to get this club into the Premiership. As mentioned earlier, he is in the spotlight but so what, he has made a very, very bold decision in getting rid of Clough and he knows it's his head on the block. Fair play to the him.

The most interesting thing for me tonight was the Premiership money and it anwered a question in mind about why the Americans would continue making the losses that they do. I didn't realise how much it was worth.

Is there a question in particular that you would have wanted to have been asked? All of my questions have been answered over the two events I have seen, even if indirectly.

For a trained lawyer I'd have to question his wisdom stating publicly a high profile manager is 'not to be trusted' as quoted by Bridgford Ram above. I would have thought he would have been privvy to the laws on slander and defamation of character.

I hope he doesn't see us as a vehicle to raise his own profile to go on to bigger and better things or turns out to be another Jez Moxey, an egotist that likes the sound of his own voice.

While it is commendable to do these meet the fans type of things, I would prefer him to keep his trap shut on things that don't concern him and get on with his job at Derby County without becoming a liability.

I'm not totally convinced by him but am willing to be won over if he goes about it in a more dignified manner. "http://knifewallpapers.com/smilies/thumbs_up_smiley" alt="thumbs_up_smiley">

He didn't say those words in that way or in that manner.

He just told the story about Mac asking Harry if he could talk to Derby about the vacant job, and if he couldn't agree terms would like to still be his coach at qpr.

Off mac went to speak to Sam Rush, and off Harry went to talk sport radio and did a piece were they asked him if the rumours were true. Instead of saying nothing or saying he may be, he just said "he's off to derby"

There was no malice in what Sam said, he joked about it with the guy from the uni who was interviewing him.

So, please don't read anything into it, as there was nothing in it,
