Positions that need filling

We still need a central defender, I know Clough wants to test the market in January but I don't think Buxton is up to being the heart of our defense with Keogh.

Smith Keogh. Buxton. Freeman

Does that fill you with confidence heading into a play-off push season?

Of course I take positives that the striking department is stronger, but minus Brayford we don't have a very strong defense and I think squad depth will be our downfall this season if we get injuries. Personally if I was Nigel I would get a central defender in pronto. No offence Buxton.

Buxton was up to it last season, so unless he's got worse over the summer then I'm happy with him there.

Would I rather we improved that area? Yes.

Is it keeping me awake at night? No.

At times I thought Buxton was far more composed than Keogh last season, so I'm fine with him being a first choice CB.

sorry have to disagree, Think we could do with a decent centre back with a turn of pace, anything over the top or diagonal causes our defence lids of problems and panic. Only have to look at how many clean sheets we had last season to see this, we are very vulnerable to anything over the top, and I'm sorry to say it but I've seen milk turn quicker than bucko. So I do believe a pacy centre half would be ideal. Feel free to rip me apart! :)

Not at all mate. I see where you're coming from and if we had the money I'd improve in that area - I'm just not too concerned if it's Buxton starting every week.

Gjokaj looks good from what I've seen as well.

Absolutely - nothing between keogh or buxton for me.

Have we sold Forsyth already?

Buxton is OK, but the likelihood of him and Keogh playing 48 games plus each is pretty remote. I'd say that we will need another centre-half before either Barker or O'Brien return. In my view we should bring in a new man now - although that's easy to say when it's not my £2.5m needed to buy and pay him.

I'd also say that we need someone else to play wide right. At best Coutts needs competition/cover, at worst he will continue his non-Brayford form and be a liability without a replacement.

So I'd say that we are two players short of having a squad capable of sustaining a top six challenge. I can't see us bringing anyone else in until the septic six are reduced to the disposable duo.

Hardly needs filling does it? None of our positions need filling, because we have two players in each position that can do a job.

Keogh

Bucko

Barker

OB

O'Connor

Gjokaj

Hanson

It doesn't need filling.

O'connor is dreadful, Hanson and gjokaj are untried at this level. OB and barker are long term absentees, personally heard that barker is finished but lets wait and see. OB is not good enough for a promotion wanting side in the championship in my opinion and neither is Buxton.

Leaving Keogh as our quality centre back.

Saying Buxton was up to it last season is a self defeating argument. We didn't make the top six! Obviously not blaming him totally, but his partner was player of the year so presumably the better of the two.

We just need to improve in areas! Nothing against Buxton, love his commitment and attitude but we've got to move onwards and upwards.
