How much better is this seasons team than last seasons

Theo and Tyson replaced by Martin and Russell.

Fielding replaced by Grant

Eustace in

Forsyth in for Roberts.

Brayford gone.

Bailey and Tyson and Theo and Oconnor going as well as Ledz

People tell me it's loads better and more players are coming in so ill wait and see if its top 6.

In my 53 years of watching the Rams which may count for nothing I have never been more underwhelmed.

I hope the optimists are right but if we start badly just watch them change there tune about top 6

The team hasn't changed much in some areas but as we've got a young team I imagine the progression from people like Hughes, Hendrick, Freeman, Jacobs, Bennett etc will stand us in good stead for the season ahead before we even start looking at the replacements brought in.

. Hope your right but from what I saw at Burton and admittedly it's pre season I wasn't over impressed. Hughes was stand out player 2nd half but the defence as a unit even with Brayford looked dodgy. We have to bolster the defence make no mistake.

i thought the same at bristol, we looked like we needed someone commanding at the back who absolutely bullies a striker with both brute force and intelligence. Sir Jake sometimes isn't clever enough to get the better of some players.

Midfield is more than good enough, as is the strikeforce.

It's the defence that's our Achilles heal - a centre back, and now a right back (of good quality) and i'll have no worries whatsoever - but it's in the clubs hands, it's important not to build expectation if there is a good chance we will fall short.

If we don't challenge, I can see Clough being hounded out by fans - and, no-one wants that. I'll have to walk away at that point, nothing would leave a sourer taste in my mouth than that, but the promises have already been made.

we're 2 short (baring injuries) we've got the right blend and concoction to get promoted but it's just that defensive frailties that were here last season, anyway (in fairness)

Use the Brayford money to sort out the defence i.e. a new first choice commanding CB and provide competition for right back and I think we'll be better off than we were at the end of last season.

I'd say all our young players will have benefitted from another full pre-season and the squad as a whole will have grown closer together, which makes the sum of the parts stronger.

I think it would be helpful to the unity of the squad if we can off load some of the peripheral players so there's no room for distractions but all in all if we can sort out the defence we'll be overall stronger and likely to challenge at the top of the table.

I remain hopeful despite losing Brayford.

We (so far) as usual have missed a trick, we've not looked at the one place that cost us the most points last season.

There's no doubt we've been a force going forward but missing that goal scorer to bag 15-20 a season okay so find a replacement, but get the defense sorted first, very pleased with the signing of Forsyth as I've been screaming out ever since we had Jay Mc as number one left back!

I just hope for our sake they have something lined up otherwise it'll just be another load of ill kept promises fed to us all pre season.

Pull you're fingers out (Rush/Clough) and work tirelessly this weekend to announce a new signing on Monday - someone we can put faith in and who can restore our faith for the season.

C'mon, you have developed a very selective memory if this is the most you have been underwhelmed.

The signing of a goalkeeper who was player of the year ahead of a striker with 30+ goals, and a striker who was one of the top scorers in his division has underwhelmed you?

When Frank was signed most fans liked him. We have a weak defence now Keogh apart. I await I comings. PS Where do Theo Ledz Tyson Doyle Oconnor and Bailey fit in. I read Cloughie has defensive targets until we get them yes I'm underwhelmed. U

Think 2 key areas have been vastly improved. Right back obviously going to be weakened but think we should concentrate on the defensive side of that position rather than the attacking side. A new centre back and I will be far from underwhelmed

. I concur but until Brayford went we were going to rely on what we have. Brayford was CB and RB options not easily replaced by prem loans etc. Eustace might well help the defence and I am happy with that. I remain to be convinced until we bolster the defence as we can't rely on SB and OB returning quickly enough. Attack and midfield are really fine. Grant is really good acquisition . Underwhelmed because I know Cloughies task is hard to achieve. Ie top6 which is expected by Rush and the board and us fans. IMO of course

As long as we continue to try and play football while improving our league position and giving our youngsters a go I'm more than happy
