DcFc Dyycheee
Not happy about this. Theo - 14 starts. 9 goals. People seem to forget how clinical he is. Everyone raving about Ward getting 10 goals in what, 15 starts, Theo would have done the same.
loweman2
[url=http://www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/Derby-County-striker-Theo-Robinson-heads-loan/story-18220654-detail/story.html#ixzz2LcEAGTin]http://www.thisisder...l#ixzz2LcEAGTin TRANSFER activity at Derby County today will see a striker leave on loan and another arrive. Theo Robinson is set to join a Championship club until the end of the season and the Derby Telegraph understands the Rams have targeted Norwich City front man Chris Martin as a replacement. Theo Robinson has been told he needs to provide something extra to regain his starting place. Chris Martin is expected to sign for Derby County for a month today. He is pictured on loan at Swindon Town this season. Martin is expected to sign on an initial one-month loan deal. Derby say Robinson has asked to go out on loan in his search for regular first-team football. The 24-year-old has not started a game since the draw away to Charlton Athletic on December 29. He has been on the bench in the last 10 matches and has come on as a substitute six times but the Jamaican international has been unable to break up the first-choice striker-force of Conor Sammon and Jamie Ward. Robinson has scored nine goals in 29 appearances this season and his record for Derby is 23 goals in 83 games since he signed from Millwall, first on loan in February 2011 and then in a permanent move in the summer of that year. He made his debut for Jamaica in a World Cup qualifer against Mexico this month and the Birmingham-born player might feel he needs to be starting at club level in order to keep his international ambitions alive. Martin, also 24, started as a trainee at Norwich and he has hit 34 goals in 117 games for the Canaries. He has also had loan spells at Luton Town, Crystal Palace and, most recently, Swindon Town. He scored 11 times in 40 league games at Luton and seven goals in 26 league appearances while at Palace. His spell at Swindon, which ended this month, was less productive, with one goal, from the penalty spot, in a dozen league games. Martin helped Norwich to win promotion to the Premier League in 2010-11 and his last game for the club was in a Capital One Cup tie earlier this season. And Dyche - Ward also has at least 8 assists, such a better player I agree he's a better player, 100%, Theo is rubbish, but he scores goals.. Jordan Rhodes is quite possibly the worst player I've seen but he gets 25-30 goals a season. Lets just hope this Chris Martin is a good player. Stive Pesley
To say Theo is "clinical" is a joke! His Opta stats were crazy - something like 80% of his shots on target were goals, but 90% of his shots were off target!
Animal is a Ram
BBC reporting the same. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21545703 Derby chase Chris Martin with Theo Robinson set to leave Derby County are closing in on a deal to sign Norwich City striker Chris Martin while forward Theo Robinson is set to join Huddersfield Town on loan, BBC Radio Derby reports. The Rams are set to sign Martin, who is out of contract in the summer, on an initial one-month contract. Martin, 24, only played three games for the Canaries this season and has been on loan with Swindon Town. Meanwhile Robinson, 24, is expected to go on loan until the end of the season. He has scored nine goals this season but has not started a Championship game in 2013. Martin appeared in the Premier League for Norwich as a substitute against QPR in August and made two starts in the Capital One Cup. But I thought loans could only be a maximum of 93 days? Or because they're in the loan window then they can be until the end? I hate the transfer window malarkey.

rsmini
If he has scored 9 in 14 starts why is he not starting more games. There has to be a reason. Be it club or player we will never know. But then it is none of our business

Jayram
This Martin bloke was on loan with Swindon in League One recently and scored precisely one goal (from the penalty spot) in 12 appearances. Hardly fills me with optimism to be honest. I don't much care about Theo going out on loan but at least replace him with someone who knows how to find the net. His Opta stats were crazy - something like 80% of his shots on target were goals, but 90% of his shots were off target! That would mean he has had 124 shots this season alone, somehow I think these stats are wrong.

Someone check out a Swindon forum to get their opinions on him, i cant be f*cked. Cant do much worst than Sammon I suppose.
ChaddesdenRam
I don't care what his previous record is to be honest. if somebody said we were signing Glenn Murray at the start of the season I would have thought what he only got 6 goals last season. little did I know Murray would go on to score 26 goals this season. I will judge Chris Martin if he signs and when he pulls on a derby county shirt.
