England v Brazil

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to this one, about time we showed these South Americans how real football is played.

Goalkeepers: Jack Butland (Birmingham), Joe Hart (Man City).

Defenders: Leighton Baines (Everton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Joleon Lescott (Man City), Chris Smalling (Man Utd), Kyle Walker (Spurs).

Midfielders: Michael Carrick (Man Utd), Tom Cleverley (Man Utd), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Aaron Lennon (Spurs), James Milner (Man City), Leon Osman (Everton), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal).

Forwards: Jermain Defoe (Spurs), Wayne Rooney (Man Utd), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Daniel Welbeck (Man Utd)

Defoe and Carrick have since dropped out with injuries, not seen if they will be replaced or not.

Also whilst searching for the Brazil squad came across an interview with Ronaldiniho, says Rooney could walk into any team in the world, says any national team would love to have him.

I know Rooney has his doubters but that's Ronaldinhio and Messi who have said similar things and I have to agree with them.

Yes he looks like Shrek, hasn't got his own hair and he hasn't been able to replcate club form to the international stage but you can't deny he's world class and up there with the best (the next level down after Messi and Ronaldo).

Well going by his previous squads Hodgson will check on who he can call up from Liverpool before considering anyone else to replace Defoe and Carrick so maybe Shelvey and Sterling will be getting phone calls.

Agree about Rooney, not in the Messi, Ronaldo bracket but up there in the next bunch.

Yep looking forward to this as I do all England games(in just about any sport 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ) Rooney is on fire for Manure and can see him scoring, Brazil don't always bring their A game to these games...and on that basis I'm going for 3-1 Engerrland 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

I don't like it when people lay into Rooney. Think he's brilliant. Not sure what he is. Like halfway between a number 10 and a striker. Kind of like what Messi has become. Sort of. But he's class. A lot of pressure on him for England.

I would like Andy Carroll called up (tin hat on) all our strikers, other than Rooney, are exactly the same, there is no plan b with those players. I thought he had a decent Euros, and was unlucky to get dropped instead of Welbeck when Rooney was available.

Interest? Stoke signed him!

But he's loaned out, as Stoke don't think he is a ready yet, if he isn't ready for top flight football he shouldn't be in the senior squad. Just hope Hart doesn't get injured or it could be another Carson, mind you he was a PL regular during that game.

Yeah, remember though, he played for team GB at the olympics.

But anyway, I have to agree, I prefer Lego over frankie too 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />
