Sheffield United FC to take Burnley FC to the high court.

Lawyers have been instructed to start proceedings against the Lancashire club who were promoted today to the English Premier League after a winning by the odd goal.

Sheffield lawyers are to argue that Wade Elliott, the goal scorer, in fact "toe poked" the ball into the net, and it should be dissallowed.

Reports that Sheffield United had another case, because the goal keeper wasn't ready, have been rubbished.

A seperate writ could be issued, because a member of the crowd shouting "Boo" which distracted the United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny.

Burnley today beat Sheffield United 1-0 at Wembley to claim victory in the Championship play-off final, returning to the English top-flight for the first time in 33 years. However, bookmakers have already moved swiftly to make the successful boss, born in Paisley, as second favourite to succeed Gordon Strachan as manager at Celtic, according to a report on Sky Sports News.

Coyle's odds have been set at 4/1 by Sky Bet, whilst the favourite to follow Strachan into the vacant Parkhead hotseat is West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray.

Billy Davies tipped as next boss of Celtic.

"Billy Davies is the perfect person to take over at the greatest club in scotland. Billy Davies is a superb manager, and would jump at the chance.
