Caerphilly Ram reacted to Indy in The Administration Thread
Almost. These sort of bids could have been looked at ages ago if EFL/Gibson claim had not been threatening a possible £50m liability in the future. By the time CK was preferred bidder, that damage had all been done, and his was the only bid on the table.

I suppose the question is why have Ashley and Appleby been playing hokey cokey. Bids in , bids out now back in again. Maybe Ashley wanted some of the players contracts to run down, so he doesn't have to pay Lawrence's wages.

I’ll bet Ashley’s bid is the lowest as it’s deducted some of the admins payment.

This s*** show is going on for a while longer I think as the parties try and get the best deal. £50m is what is needed which is over the odds. 3 parties involved but they’ve obviously not satisfied all creditors otherwise we’d be hearing about it. All we have is a highly competitive bid from Appleby which Natalie says is over £50m, and Ashley who is saying I have £50m ready to go - a big difference from bidding £50m, and Morgan is still involved supposedly.
With this level of interest it will take sheer bloody incompetence for Derby to be liquidated from here, but this has dragged on so long that we can write off next season now, we just have to make sure we don’t fall any further down the pyramid.
Leigh Curtis in the DET is spot on, get the deal done it’s the fans that suffer. Problem is it’s a bad deal.

No. These bids weren’t on the table then. Hopefully they are now and others too.

so both AA & MA saying the money is there to do a deal
so what has been the hold up for the past week. oh yes, the admins.

There's a difference between the Sheikh, Alonso and CK compared to AA and MA. The latter 2 have a track record in English football and are not complete unknowns. I would hope that the fit and proper persons test should be a slam dunk and that their finances are a lot more open.

Snippet of skysports news running the story. Mentions Appleby and Morgan still in negotiations and that they’ve been told Ashley’s bid is the lowest. Not sure if that refers to previous info around bids as current news is both Appleby and Ashley have £50m ready to go, maybe Appleby has an extra fiver on top ?

You reckon if I share my account number and sort code with Mike he might pop a few million in there? You know, to prove he’s the real deal.

A price worth paying.
I loathe gambling, so might actually buy a home shirt with Sports Direct on. Will never buy one with a bookie.

After the recent collapse of the CK bid, and the increased scrutiny that Quantuma face (for reasons both sensibly based in fact and numerous suspicions based on rumour and speculation) I think we might actually be pleasantly surprised at how quick things move…finally.
Quantuma won’t impose a deadline themselves from what we know but several deadlines have appeared due to June payday, fixture announcements, need for pre season, the season starting in a matter of weeks etc. So they’ve got to act in some way. Also, I think they need to save face and get out, the narrative has become way more negative when it comes to Q with lots of the fan base and other parties painting them as public enemy numbers 1, 2 and 3.

This is the important part of the article, definitely seems like he’s very serious if that’s legitimate - better than anything I expected!

You have a very skewed view of things kevin. For a start it isnt just NDAs.. EFL cannot expect to see all correspondnce that Q has with external parties without the other party agreeing to it. And any change to NDAs need both parties to agree that change.
Q has daily contact with Trevor Birch. And judging by Alan Nixons tweets, Trevor Birch has daily contact with Alan Nixon. If I was bidding for Derby I wouldn't want such a leaky sieve having anything to do with me unless the deal is ready to be rubber stamped by EFL.

I think with all this talk of rival bids, deadlines in the background, legal actions by players, embargoes, the EFL whims and so on, that it may be useful to consolidate everything we currently know about the situation. So for the benefit of new readers and those who have stepped away through stress and now need a recap.....This is what we know:

I’m taking it as a positive step, not necessarily as a key sign to a takeover being done but to see planning for the new season is happening suggests we will at least get another year of the club, I mean it could all change but I’m thinking positively ?

Well if it’s a game of poker then it isn’t a regulation is it. Q will and are talking with the EFL, the bidders know they will have to deal with the EFL. The only thing Q have said is that we are legally obliged to keep the details of our bidders commercially private. The Bidders will doubtless make contact with you at the appropriate time. The parameters for retaining our golden share and payment of football creditors are laid out clearly. Other than the fit and proper persons test and the need to make a fixture list there isn’t anything else that is the EFL’s business. The ELF make the rules of the football league but they don’t make the rules on commercial and company law. Now the EFL could decide to turn nasty, vindictive, invent or reinterpret rules … but that isn’t Q’s fault or Derby’s fault.
The EFL should be saying nothing more than : “we await a formal approach from the winning bidder and look forward to working with them as soon as possible.” Or “we await Q’s confirmation that DCFC intend to start next season in administration (with suitable a suitable funding model) while the proposed takeover negotiations progress. We stand ready to respond promptly and reasonably to their proposals”
