  1. finished it now. I cannot compare it to season 1 very well, cos I watched S1 two years ago and have had lots of alcohol, lots of sleep and watched many other Netflix shows since then, albeit I do remember enjoying it. I don't feel I enjoyed this as much, although I did enjoy it. WIthout giving too much away, this left a lot open.
  2. This gets me every time! People should be grateful for what they've got, and whilst there's always room for improvement, be careful what you wish for. I recommend listening to some of the other local coverage around the country, it's abysmal. We have been blessed at Derby to have really good presenters and summarisers, and there will always be those you prefer. I used to love Ian Hall and thought his analysis was brilliant, and given the time he'd been out of the game, his insight was spot on and it was very hard to find any mistake he made. As a double act, his knowledge covered Graham Richards bluster and eccentricity, but I can recall listeners criticising him! I remember Ted McMinn and Ross Fletcher, which, knowing Ted, I couldn't believe he never swore on air!!! Ross was a great professional. Colin Bloomfield was almost bullied, criticised for his "camp" voice live on radio! Think he worked with both Dean Sturridge and Gary Rowett. Studge was slated for being negative, even though we were dismal as a team. Roger Davies was the one I didn't want to listen to, as he said one thing on the radio and a different thing in private (off-air) which made me feel he was highly disingenuous! As for Ramage, I think he's great. His vocabulary is limited, but that isn't enough to hang him! He describes what he sees pretty well IMO and he is honest and will say what he thinks. It annoys me that it's not what I want to hear, but that's because I want Derby County to be better than what we are and have been. Dawes in my opinion is the one that might need to raise his professionalism. Whilst I think the ploy is to be "lads" and relate to the lads that are listening, sometimes it's a bit churlish and not funny, others it does make me laugh. IN commentary and punditry terms, the current set up is very good. I find it amusing though that people are held by different standards. "I'm allowed to be negative and call Derby rubbish, but you're not!"

So... I had Patrick from Friday lunchtime until about 8pm last night, and now I've given him back, I'm absolutely crushed lol. Due to work commitments and living in a first floor flat, alone, it would be cruel to own a dog. I leave at 5am and sometimes don't get home until 6:30-7:00pm. But weekends are generally fine. So I didn't want this puppy to think I was boring, and that's a lot of pressure to put on oneself. It's like a middle-age man trying to impress his kids and act cool! So I've lived in and around Sinfn for 12 years and only just discovered that there is a "Nature Reserve" at Sinfin Moor, and I took Patrick there 5 times! I let him lead the way each time and decide which path to take. He's only 9 months old and likes to sniff everything, so it takes ages to walk 100yds! lol. I really enjoyed my time with him, I am a massive lover of dogs and as said frequently, I prefer them to humans, by a long way, and Patrick is easily one of my most favouritest living things! I spent most of the weekend laughing at him and play-fighting with him. he is obsessed with ears though. He's pulled the ears off all his teddys and bunnies and always nibbles my ears when play fighting. Anyway, he's with his grandma now cos I had to go back and do responsible things like Work! My life feels empty again and I can focus on booing Keogh!
  5. I replaced Bertha, my BMW E46 320D tourer, which was getting about 48mpg, with Loretta, a BMW X3 2.5i petrol, simply cos it had a panoramic sunroof. Now..... I work in the Automotive industry and know all about which cars people should and shouldn't buy, and I would tell everyone not to bother with my X3 as it's thirsty on fuel, but did I give myself that advice? God no! I'm getting 25.9mpg and filling up twice a week! She's a lovely drive though

been puppysitting Patrick this weekend. Going to hate giving him back 🥺
  7. I couldn’t swallow pills so practiced on baked beans. True story.
  8. I'm a little bit disappointed that we've not signed an unknown from Europe. It's almost as if we haven't employed foreign coaches. We have 2 dutch players, but they were already here and one is a GK! The other hasn't really got the technique you'd associate with Dutch players. I imagine scouting has changed so much so that the big clubs have already hoovered up the young talent and there isn't much left for a club like Derby, but I miss the days of signing a player I've never heard of from mainland Europe!
  9. but at the moment Saints are paying all of that and not playing him, maybe they send him to Derby and only pay £95k and we pay the £5k!
  10. I did hear a whisper, but not enough to start a thread, that we were getting Fraser Forster last week, not from a reliable (for gossip) source*, so I forgot all about it until I saw @Rampage just ask for a 6'5" bruiser! *source is very reliable in real terms as he's one of my best mates. He was also given some cryptic information he couldn't decipher which was ultimately Wayne Rooney!!
  11. we don't have enough dutch players imo

My opinion is that Bennett has a lot going for him and needs a good solid run in the team to master how to put his qualities into effect, a bit like Dean Sturridge did under Smith/McClaren. I'm not convinced by Josefzoon, but still hold hope that he has something there, technically however, he looks quite average, his control isn't that good and his kicking/striking/passing technique looks quite weak to me. Bennett on the other hand looks technically excellent with the ball at his feet, although the other night, he did have one bounce off both ankles and to an opponent! He very rarely misplaces a pass, and has power running with the ball. His striking technique is very good too. I think had it been switched, Bennett starting, he'd have done a lot more offensively than Josefzoon, he's a very positive player.

He was put on to help Bogle defend, which he did admirably.
  14. well, law of averages say we will lose a couple of games this season. Let it be Fulham!
  15. Why isn't Carson in contention? Is he injured? what if he doesn't leave? As for playing Fulham, Clarke will have Mitrovic in his pocket 😄
  16. we don't need a GK, we need fans to stop reacting as if the goalkeeper we have does things (mistakes) that every other goalkeeper in the history of goalkeeping hasn't done!

sadly not. This isn't an easily improved attribute, like "marking", "passing", "ball control", or "dribbling". I assume you're trying to cleverly refer back to my comments about people willing to write Max Lowe off (based upon playing for Aberdeen)? Nice try, but very different indeed, at FloJo's age, he's not going to get faster at sprinting. His crossing can improve, as can his all-round game, and I hope it does.
  19. I've read that due to Rooney's contract at both United and Everton now expiring, he's down to his DC United earnings, which was $50k

FloJo has a case of the "Kenny Millers", where it looks like he's running his fastest, but he actually isn't moving. I was surprised just how slow his sprint is. Wouldn't be surprised if Huddlestone can beat him over 20yds!
  21. I remember a senior manager where I used to work saying to someone he thought wouldn't react "no wonder you can't get a taxi in Derby, all the p*kis work here!", not realising the bloke he said it to was a really top human being and didn't laugh, but instead walked straight over to the table of people this was aimed at to tell them what was said and that he'd put in a statement if they were offended. Three days later, senior manager was sacked. A more amusing was the young girl who wrote on facebook that her manager creeps her out and is such a pervert, forgetting that they were facebook friends and he was gay. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1206491/Woman-sacked-Facebook-boss-insult-forgetting-added-friend.html
  22. sadly I know people similar to this guy who are actually just pure sausaging simpletons more than they are racist and think they can score a point or get someone wound up by saying stupid things like this without having the capacity to understand what constitutes racism. A couple of hours later just saw a Derby fan tell a Rooney fan to concentrate on washing elephants, which is just as racist in my view, but it cast my mind back to people singing it about Earnshaw 10 years ago at Pride Park. Not easy to get this point across but not every racist comment is made by a racist person. People can be stupid/thick.

without wanting to argue for the sake of it, I've seen opposition double up on the likes of Teale and Croft, doesn't mean they're good players

Ibe played about 25 games and scored about 5 goals. Ince came in and scored double in less games. The season didn't derail cos of Ibe going, it derailed cos the spine of the team was out injured!
