I guess but if you could say the same with drink driving, if you have 49.99 milligrams you are ok, but 50.01 its drink driving. That 2 mg is negligible but you always have to have some sort of cut off.

I think they have been gradually going up over the last 3 or 4 weeks. I do get what you are saying.
Thankfully i can have my opinion and it doesnt cost lives, which is why i do understand the difficult position those who make decisions are in though.

Hospitilisations fell again for the second week running. Usually you see these a couple of weeks after an uplift in infections but that doesnt seem to be happening this time.
Hopefully the vaccine is indeed working, it appears to be.
I get that people feel it wont make much difference, for a lot of people the notion of sitting in a pub garden being served on is great, and it is i love it, its just like being on holiday, but i guess wont we dont see is the P&L for the Pub etc in question, and especially those that havent opened because they simply cant operate under the current restrictions.
I have been supportive of lockdowns, but feel we need to push on.
My gut feeling though is scientists and experts who dont have an economy to worry about will push for an extension and thats what they will get.

The media can be very damaging. So they will argue they report stories, but its how they sensationalise it with headlines that state something is fact, only for the story to be contradictory.
Yes they could argue the public should be able to read the story to, but we have seen that common sense isnt always applied by the public.
The sensationalist headlines about stockpiling last year unquestionably contributed to people actually going out and stockpiling and caused issues which were well known with people being, or struggling, to get hold of supplies.
Its like the banking crash, I have no doubt the sensationalist headlines contributed to the issue we had, big headlines about Northern Rock, next minute everyone queuing round the block to get their money, next thing bank goes caput.

VAR is awful, and pundits are enjoying criticising it, but it is the likes of sky with their dozens of camera angles that are responsible for it.
They enjoyed picking refs up on wrong decisions because they had the benefit of replays from every angle you can imagine, perhaps if they hadnt been so keen to destroy a ref because he made a wrong decision because they could replay it 100 times we wouldnt be in this position today.

    Quite right.
Only yesterday, there was a story on the Beeb website with a headline about a "shortage of essentials" in the shops this summer.
It turns out, the "essentials" in question were patio furniture, camping gear and some plastic toys.
The comments section was alive with people complaining about the alarmist headline and it was changed later in the day.
....and this from an organisation that doesn't even have to generate advertising revenue from clicks.
Do your best to generate a news story that you can then report on. It does my head in.

I am still hoping there will be some lifting on the 21st. It is a bit of a misleading headline which as been typical really throughout. The headline suggests its decided yet the article is pretty much just a rehash of everything other article thats been published over the last few weeks which uses the words 'Could'.
The media have been saying that for weeks now.
Lets face it we are in the summer now and chances are weather will stay nice so a good quantity of people will still be outdoors, i think the risks are low although im about as qualified to asses risks as i am to perform brain surgery, but thats my opinion.
Why not go with opening up, but still leave the work from home directive in force for a little while longer if it minimises the risk. Surely its time we can start using our common sense. If i went in a pub and it was packed if probably turn around and find somewhere less so, manage my own risk.

I agree with @Norman I would leave it for now with your Mrs
Just my opinion but as its been proven being vaccinated reduces transmission I would have it if I was you,  just to help prevent you bringing it home.

Had a new kitchen installed a few years ago, wont say which company but was beset by problems throughout.
The doors are the gloss ones, so the fitter puts them all on, looking good, only i notice that he has placed one of the handles slightly out of alignment with the rest. Hes mumbling about it only being a few mm, but its not level ive paid a lot of money i want it right.
So we have to get two new doors ordered for the particular cupboard. A few weeks later they arrive, fitted, yes...the handles now are in the right place, but hang on a minute....the finish is like a fine orange peel effect where the other doors are perfectly smooth.
Contact head office...the excuse is they are from a different batch, i say but surely they can be smooth like the rest, 'oh you must have got a really good batch the first time',  obviously i dont stand for this and eventually they agree to order two new doors.
They arrive, same again, same excuses with a 'little we can do'. I am not happy and the next lot that arrive do eventually sort the issue.
All seems ok until a few months down the line...we have a leak from the sink, and notice its started to crack along the bottom.
Back on the head office....got a crack in the sink, its leaking. Response 'Have you been putting anything hot down the sink?' - 'Yes of course I have' i reply, they say 'That sounds like its it', I reply with 'thats crazy of course we are going to empty hot water from pans etc down the sink'. This goes on, obviously im not having that i cant drain vegetable water etc down the sink.
We end up with two reps from BEKO out who take one look and suggest that the crack is from being fitted incorrectly, when i mention the hot water the reply is along the lines of 'what a load of .........'.

MrPlinkett got a reaction from kash_a_ram_a_ding_dong in Stadiums reopening, will you be attending?
That will be worrying for Biden if everyone who wants it has had it. He has 4th July as a target for 70% of the population? Currently its about 50% at least one dose and 40% two doses, so if everyone who wants it has had it then he will fall along way short of that target.
I guess also if 60% of the population dont want to be fully vaccinated that might explain why younger people have been able to get it as there will no doubt be millions of doses going spare.
So while it might be taking longer in the UK, the take up has been excellent, and from what you are saying it looks like the US is done with its vaccination program but the UK will end up with a far higher percentage of the population vaccinated.
