Ambitious got a reaction from G STAR RAM in Are Derby players deferring wages?
Players shouldn't have to defer wages. I wouldn't like to be asked if I was in that position; if they want to put some money towards charities then they can, but it shouldn't be a guilt trip. At the end of the day, players signed a fixed term contract with a value of wages that would be paid to them in any event - even death (I'm led to believe) so I have absolutely no problem taking their full wage. It's not their fault there is a pandemic.

It's not just that, because quite simply they should win it, but you then face the questions about relegation and promotion. If you cancel the league then everyone has to start again, where they started. The teams chasing promotion to the Premier League are about to miss out on a huge, huge, HUGE payday because of this virus. I have no doubts about it. They will void this league season within the next 6 weeks. It makes no odds to us, really.

I think the majority have improved. We're only 5 points off where we was last season without our four best players: Wilson, Mount, Keogh & Tomori. It's meant players have had to step up and luckily we've shown outstanding progression throughout the season - the calling card of a team going places. Marriott has been the biggest disappointment for most fans, I feel. Martin gradually getting back to his absolute best has been a huge positive. Wisdom, too, was almost a forgotten man under Lampard who bombed him out a few times. Today, he led the team out. He's cemented his place in the starting XI for the time being at CB. It suits him.

We definitely have the hardest run in: we play teams at home who are good away and we play teams away that are good at home.
Blackburn have an equally difficult run in, but still not as bad as ours. If you want to put some money on a team then I would definitely fancy GR's Millwall to have a very realistic opportunity. They have 5 home games remaining and their away games are against teams who aren't dominant at home. If they get all three points against us on Saturday, I would imagine they will make the top six at someone's expense.
I honestly think looking at our run-in that we should try and focus on getting a top half finish with a + GD and that would represent a progressive season. I think it's unrealistic to expect that we will suddenly turn into the league's best team and garner the results to get into the top six.

If we don't take it any further than one game at a time: it's likely that the 6th placed team will be on 58/59 points come this weekend. Preston at Luton and Bristol at Blackburn. I'd say one of them will win, if not both. We play Millwall and will need to win (or draw) to stop them going six points clear of us - a draw wouldn't be the worst result but you would fancy QPR in that scenario to jump us as they're at home to Barnsley so we would drop back to 13th.
Without going into other results, I would say that a win would leave us still 5, maybe 4, points from the play-off positions. A draw will leave us in the bottom half almost certainly with roughly 7 points to make up and a loss would pretty much mean the same, but Millwall 6 points clear and probably knocking the door of the play-offs - they have a really favourable run to end the season and the bookies haven't been daft, they have the lowest odds outside the current top six to finish inside them.

Archie Brown is a good swiss army knife. I can see him progressing through nicely, especially as he's an easy option for the bench. It's a shame Delap decided to head to City as he was really a talented and he's carried it through.
I think I heard Liam Thompson was really highly rated too. He's not one that is as eye catching as the others, but seems to bit of Max Bird about him. I'd like to see MIchell-Lawson or Tyree Wilson breakthrough purely as we have a requirement for a wide player.

I know a few of us have been high on Sibley for a while. He caught my eye the very first time I saw him and he’s been my pick of the bunch throughout the last couple of seasons at youth level.
He has struggled to really impact the way I would like in his few appearances, but a breakthrough performance against United and a first goal today will open the floodgates open.
He’s an enormous talent. The saviour of Derby County Football Club, albeit the supporting cast are also extremely good.
