I'm no virologist but I thought the process of mutation wasn't really a deliberate act on the part of the virus - just that mutations happen randomly all the time, and if a random mutation happens to be one that makes it easier to infect (like the kent variant) or in future evade the vector of the vaccine, then that strain will automatically become the most prevalent?
 

That really is the big issue.
The biggest danger period is when you roll out vaccines in a large scale (the current phase is probably the largest mass-innoculation this country has ever seen), you can end up with people being infected before the vaccine has taken full effect - and that is a prime candidate for how you end up with vaccine-resistant viruses.

It seems like a positive that so far the vaccine companies don't think the mutations are evading the vaccine. Could be that the new RNA vaccines are a bit more resilient? Or we just don't know. Another positive is that this is surely the most studied virus in the history of humankind, so we have to be hopeful that the vaccines can be tweaked and boosters offered when needed
?

Sibley has talent, no doubt but he isn't consistent enough. That said the lad is only 19 with a handful of games under his belt. There are times throughout his career where he will have dips of form, I'm sure he is still ahead of schedule to where he thought he would be at this stage.
We are in great form at the moment, his time will come, up to him to snatch it when he does and show he deserves a place in starting 11...same as any other player really.

Pep has won it twice in one less season and will have another on the notch this year as well. This wasn't a comparison anyway between Pep and him, I was just pointing out another manager who has finished no lower than 3rd, 2 titles under their belt and another on the way. I'll give you he doesn't seem to be a bad cup manager, reminds me a bit of Harry in that respect.
So just to be clear though, you think one title win in 6 seasons makes him a great manager ?

Sacking him ? I think this is one of the worst title defences ever, Raneri produced a miracle and was sacked the following season I believe ?

I reckon Klopp must be close as well...it's becoming clearer each week he only topped the division because the pandemic disrupted the season. 7 years, no normal titles and struggling for a European place ?

7 years now at liverpool and the only time he has won a league is as you say in a season that was distributed like no other. I'm sure he would love to be a seen as a fraud winning all them titles?

Klopp has changed, used to like him as he didn't blame anyone and his interviews were refreshing. Now he blames VAR week after week, the world is against him and his team, didn't take long for him to become a "victim".

Maybe, but I remember him before they were winning and he was like a breath of fresh air to the club. I don't mind sore losers, I hate losing myself but be graceful with it, he just isn't any more.
