If Amanda Staveley sold her small stake In Newcastle Utd , she could easily afford to buy the Rams . She is well connected and would bring in massive investment . We could get in the Prem and pay the likes of Raheem Stirling £250k a week . But would us Rams fans be happier paying double for our season tickets ? We haven’t had a poll for ages .

imo we don’t want someone who can merely afford to buy us. We want someone with a few billions here and there and probably a US franchise or two. And we want one person, not a private equity firm (look at Chelsea) and not a consortium.

The Glazers majority own United but don't run it. Can't think of many other examples though.

Was a perfect deal for the Glazers though. They didn’t get a big enough offer for them to sell the whole club but the heat they were getting from the fans was a real problem. Now Ratcliffe has responsibility for football matters so he’ll get the blame if their fortunes don’t change.

Won't Clowes still own the stadium? So even if he only owns 20% of the shares, that is likely another influencing factor.

I don’t think anyone will buy 80% of the club to leave DC running it.  He’s talking about remaining as chairman. imo he’d be chairman of a board stacked with nominees of the majority owners

Plus Ozzie didn’t attempt to jump, maybe you don’t if you’re on that end as it might go low near post? But it did look half hearted.

Why don’t we get someone to do the lying down thing ? Makes the guy taking the kick assume they’ll all jump and limits his margin for error

For context I was at an England international cricket game a few days ago and the ground announcer was at pains to broadcast on several occasions that abuse of the players, obscene chanting etc etc would not be tolerated.

Never been frightened at a cricket game. No comparison

It was a big gamble by the recruitment team to make a GK, who was an unknown quantity in England, our most expensive transfer of the window - but

Hats off to the recruitment team. I didn’t think we’d find a gk who’d match Wildsmith at his best.
Seems to make sense for your keeper to be one of your most expensive players

Yes it is. Staying up is a massive result for derby this year, don't get it twisted.

    Not exactly positive thinking

we’ve recruited well and efficiently. And with that - bar injury crises - I don’t think we’ll even be close to a relegation battle

I’ll forgive Ebou for that miss of a century because I love him so much. 😂

In his defence he was out on his feet. (Not that he needs defending.) It was all to his credit that he pounced on the error. You know you’re over the line when their keeper is in a heap in the centre circle

It's interesting Manning stated about his team being 'too emotional'. You could take this as him commenting on Bird and Knight, but I didn't take it that way

Oh. I did. What do you think he was saying ?

PS love Jason Knight but no way is he a captain. Even W Rooney realised that was a mistake …

I think Ozoh was huge in the second half. The way he was winning the ball deep and then driving forward, allowed everyone else to get forward and stretch the defence

Hoping he stays injury free and does what we dreamed Bielik would do.

  11. Quite excited after today. Said after Blackburn, our season will be defined by Ozoh’s trajectory. I think he’s learning where he can add most and loving it. Warne’s job becomes more difficult: finding the best midfield after the recent loans in will be challenging
