Wistaston Ram reacted to sheffieldram in Wearing Derby colours
The Goodies have been on SKY recently showing some of the old episodes.
There was one in which the end of the world was due in 30 minutes and they had to try and fit in as much as they could before the world ended at midnight. Tim was distraught that there would be no more Derby County.

Maybe take the R out of the name of their training ground since it is waterlogged, it might help with the healing process of their injuries....

Remember watching the Goodies as a kid and being so pleased when he mentioned us. Also remember when he was on this is Your Life and the Derby team at the time (early 80s) rode in on three seater bikes at the end.

Wistaston Ram reacted to loweman2 in Derby County Shirt Collection
James Collins no 9 shirt from the Carabao cup tie at Anfield, also the black poppy armband worn by the players to show their respects for the glorious dead.
this was the first game that the shirts had the NSPCC charity logo in place of a sponsorship logo.
A great statement from the club away from the gambling and fast food logos of the previous regime.
this shows that we are a club at the centre of our community!

Half the distance to Vale Park than it is to PP for me, but bloody trains back are a nightmare. It does my head in that West Ham fans will be able to get back to London by train after a night game in Derby, but Stoke to Merseyside, forget it. ?

Wistaston Ram reacted to SK47 in A Proud Moment For Me, My Godson, Henry Curtis.
I don't know if this deserves its own post but I'm super proud that my eldest (16 year old) godson has recently been playing for Ipswich u21&u23's, with the paperwork going through on a 2 year deal.
He was involved with the u23 training on Thursday/Friday and was asked (along with 10 others) to stay behind to play a game with first team, of which was mixed teams.
Henry Partnered Richard Keogh at cb at the age of 16. I'm absolutely over the moon that I've watched him grow and play to the point he is now involved with partnering an ex Derby captain, amazing stuff.
Keep an eye out for him, Henry Curtis. His paperwork is currently going through and hes playing Swansea this weekend. I've already told him if he ever gets the call to play for Derby, he has to. No ifs or buts.

A great away (home) day out for me. I was sat in the main stand and the longer the game went on it became apparent there were a lot of Derby fans amongst the home end - me included obviously!
Also great that every bar i went in to had a Derby fan to chat to - felt strange bumping into Rams fans in my hometown.

Just back, very entertaining game and a good advert for League 1, just could have done without the heart stopping defending in the last 15 minutes. Managed to contain myself in the home end, although when Bird's shot hit the back of the net, I yelled out 'wow, what a goal'. Thankfully everyone around me agreed! My cover was blown when Barks scored but it didn't matter, everyone was pretty friendly. Really good away day on par with Accrington. Quite impressed with Cheltenham who gave us a good game and tried to play football. I liked their number 32 (Broom) who played in left midfield and gave Bird a torrid time.

We've been through some tough times, when you put all the horrendous Covid stuff alongside the financial firestorm of the Morris era together we are lucky to have a club left to support.
But we have a fantastic club to support, we still have our wonderful, stressful, beautiful club to support.
We are averaging 26,000 in the third division. We are selling out most away games, we are Derby.
I love this football club, I love everything about DCFC. I love the history, I love people like @loweman2 doing all the stuff about shirts, @Inverurie Ram with his Rams flag thread,
Whatever happens this season, whether we make the play offs or even sneak into the autos, it doesn't really matter.
Being part of the DCFC family is what matters. We are Derby. Enjoy every game you go to and get behind the team.

Pinched from the Cheltenham forum.
A word for the Derby fans, both in the away end and home end. I thought they were fantastic today, they sang the whole game - even for the 5 mins they were a goal behind - and the ones I spoke to in the pubs afterwards were very gracious in victory. They were the ones telling us that if we continue to play like that we'll be completely fine this season. What I will say though is that we need to play like that against the teams around us and not just against the big teams with huge followings.
……………….well done to all who travelled. ?

Wistaston Ram reacted to Ellafella in Cheltenham Vs Derby County: Player Ratings
1Wildsmith 7 Neither goal his fault; safe hands when under late pressure. Wind destroyed his kicking mid-2nd half.
12Smith 7 Robust.
3Forsyth 6 Should’ve taken charge of their 7ft bean-pole
6Cashin 7.5 Vg shift not sure why subbed; great feet & lovely passing.
33 Davies 5 Very ring rusty
17Sibley 8 Great distribution & solid.
4Hourihane 7.5 Showing more class & movement of late & key goal
McGoldrick 7 Reverse pass specialist docked 1 for not converting a clear chance
8Bird ? 8 He must have a foot like a traction engine.
11Mendez-Laing 7.5 No fb can stop him. Exquisite peach onto Houri’s bonce for goal #1 unlucky not to score when clean through
38Knight 7 Influenced waned late on
7Barkhuizen 8 Superb decider needs more from his forward colleagues to play him in
Dobbin 7 unlucky to have his goal erased for offside
9Collins 6 Should’ve scored & needs to anticipate and move in the box
Rooney 7 Great calmness added ballast late under pressure
Great day out at Cheltenham. Great atmosphere created by Rams fans. So enjoyable.
