Albert reacted to Curtains in We won’t go down
My mate said we already down.
I don’t believe him.
The odds are on us staying up
Id much rather be in our position than Rotherham or Wednesday

I was in the minority of keeping Nigel Clough. He was building a superb team and would have got us promoted on a ridiculously small budget.

It's OK, everyone. Relax. The bookies have spoken. We're going to be fine.

Still here, just not a lot to be bothered commenting about; I am by and large a lurker on here.
The UK's vaccine rollout has been very competent, and while there's still some nutty stuff being spread about, we've all heard it before. I could go on about the comedy of errors that is Australia's vaccine rollout, emphasising my point that the Australian federal government has handled the crisis here pretty poorly, but lucked out on the states actually doing something, but it's not really relevant for this forum.

Anyone else bored with all this bickering?
Half of adults in uk now vaccinated, that’s some going.

Good job he left Derby to aid his development, without doing that he wouldn't have this glorious opportunity to play for Derby.

Albert reacted to ariotofmyown in Path to the playoffs
I've done some analysis and think the playoff charge is still on...
14 points behind 6th place Bournemouth: we've taken 4 points off them and they look poor. Lost 3 on the row now and could be within sight if both our form and theirs continues for a couple of games.
12 points behind 7th place Boro with game in hand: 4 points from last 5 games, beat them and win game in hand then we need to make up 6 points over 18 games. Easy.
11 points behind 8th place Blackburn: probably hardest to catch as on good form. Will need them to start dropping points soon to put the pressure on.
11 points behind 9th place Bristol City: did you see them today? They are rubbish.
10 points behind 10th place Stoke with a game in hand: just 3 draws from last 5 games. Looked poor against us. Very catchable.
8 points behind 11th place Preston down to 2 points behind 17th place Coventry. 3 teams we have games in hand over and all the teams in this group of average. Good chance we'll finish above all of these.
Summary: We'll need Bournemouth's poor form to continue but only them and Blackburn look tricky to catch.
We're 5th in the form table over 10 games and 1st-6th contains us, plus the top 5 in the league. We just need to find a way to beat the weaker teams now.

Albert reacted to Joel in Keogh Sacked
Think the club are well within their rights here.
Presumably the insurance doesn't cover the player (wages) in this case given the circumstances.

trouble is that he is not competent to do the job he is paid for and he was contributory to the reasons why

Albert reacted to TigerTedd in Keogh Sacked
Yes, but the other two are able to play and earn their wages now.
if they ended up in prison for their crimes, then I’m sure they’d be facing a similar offer. We’re not going to pay them for sitting in jail.
But while they’re able to play, they’ve served their time, they’ve been punished in the eyes of the club and the law, so they carry on playing and getting paid for it.
This all seems completely sensible to me.
Keogh has sidelined himself through an unnecessary, avoidable, and non work related incident. So we shouldn’t have to pay him silly wages. Imagine if you could get yourself a massive contract, then just accidentally break your leg and sit the rest of the contract out on full wages.
Sean Barker, for example, is a different case, as he got his injury in the line of duty.

Adelaide, South Australia, signed up as well. Will see how it all goes.
As it turns out Foxtel are blitheringly incompetent, and beIN sports doesn't, despite previous listing, have the EFL anymore. As such the Sunderland game and probably all broadcast games this season won't be viewable by legal means in Australia. Great stuff!

So far we know it's got Zelda: Breath of the Wild as a launch title, and that's looking mighty impressive. Everything else is currently suggest and rumour. The trailer hinted at a new Mario Kart (new mechanics, King Boo) and a Mario game, while there are rumours that Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS would receive a Switch port at launch or soon after (there were job listings for something referred to as 'Smash Bros. 6' shortly before the release of Smash Bros. for 3DS as well, which adds to that rumour). If they can get those out near release they should do well for themselves.

Nah, think they have learnt from the two Wii attempts at being different.
Nintendo know their stuff when it comes to handheld devices, they are the only ones to sell in large numbers over and over again and continue producing games for them. With Switch they are combining the home console market and the handheld market which can only be a good thing with regards to game quality and console lineup. No point having two devices with a handful of games on each when you can have one console that does the job of both and have the entire game collection.
Tbf Nintendo havent competed with Sony or Microsoft for years. The N64 was the last effort really, since then they have done their own thing and relied on their catalogue of games and fanbase.

Having a laugh with some mates and a few beers is and will always be better than the utterly depressing modern "gaming experience" of sitting in a room on your own with your little battery hen call centre headset on and getting called a fag by pre pubescent Americans who have apparently also hooked up with your mother.
I feel sorry for kids now who know nothing beyond the latter all because some clever git in corporate about 10 years ago realised that 4 people having fun for £370 (£200 console, £30 controller x 4, £50 game) wasn't nearly as good as 4 people having to pay a combined total of £1,280 (£200 console x 4, £30 controller x 4, £50 game x 4, £40 online subscription x 4) for the same experience.
