Bob Mash got a reaction from Inverurie Ram in Festival and Gig Tickets
Went to the Sea Power in Edinburgh, Jarvis and Black Pumas in Birmingham. All fantastic. Going to see Shame in Brum tonight also. Sadly Idlewild at Stourbridge this Saturday has been postponed til next year due to a covid outbreak in the band. Been to a few pub gigs over the last week too at The Flapper and Sunflower lounge. Amazing raucous atmosphere at all the gigs. Great stuff. The only thing I haven't missed is the price of drinks in the larger venues - £6+ on average!!

Bob Mash reacted to Gee SCREAMER !! in Derby - city of Culture 2025?
Cutting down hundreds of trees at the back of the hospital back in April as the birds were nesting and turning some of the oldest glasshouses in the country into a car park resulting in having 10 years of a city centre bereft of so much as a begonia in a basket as a result due to external costs from a supplier. Not a great start.

Bob Mash got a reaction from Andrew3000 in Derby - city of Culture 2025?
Culturally, Derby needs something to liven it up. The city seems to be dying on it's ass and that's without mentioning the football. Without a central venue, Derby seems a bit soulless. The Assembly Rooms really is missed.

Not forgetting Brian Travers who also sadly left us this year. Two weeks after his passing, before the last act of the weekend at Moseley Folk Festival, Richard Hawley, the dj played 'Food for Thought'. The crowd as one burst into song. Really moving stuff. ❤️

Bob Mash reacted to 1of4 in Derby - city of Culture 2025?
Derby as always be dying on it's ass. Over time our city fathers have managed to demolish most of the city's historical buildings, while managing to replacing them with eyesores and buildings not fit for purpose.
Whenever any new project is announced, the plans put forward look exciting but what we usually end up with is a cut back version of the original concept due to budget constraints.

UB40 are not everyone's cup of tea. Don Letts calls them the Status Quo of reggae and much of their cover version songs are called in by numbers.
But their first few albums, Signing Off, Present Arms are true pillars of their time. They sang political like few bands ever, ever achieve and rarely get the credit they deserve as agents of change in race relations and social equality.
Such a shame they ended up falling apart, it was a gruesome unwinding but that shouldn't spoil appreciation for their early years.

'Suede' this week, regardless if you are a big fan of the music or not.. I promise you, Brett is a bloody brilliant front man.

Bob Mash reacted to Bris Vegas in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
The scenarios are different however.
Last season after 17 games we had 12 points. After 17 games last season Sheffield Wednesday had 9 points, Wycombe had 11 points and Rotherham had 13 points. We were only 1 point behind at this stage last season.
Now, we are currently 9 points behind. We don’t have 18 points, we have SIX points.
And the 18 points we have collected after 17 games would be around 49 over a season. Teams have been relegated from the Championship with more than that total anyway.
Just to match last season’s total of 44 points which was only good enough to stay up due to Sheffield Wednesday’s points deduction, we need another 38 points from 29 games. That would be 60 over a season.
I’m not saying let’s give up. But, let’s be honest, we’ve only won 4 league games in the last 32 under Wayne Rooney dating back to last season. Hardly screams of mid table form. We’re going down.

Totally agree about our new vermin followers. It's been building for a few years now. Personally I think they're worse than their 80s counterparts. There's a cocky misplaced arrogance about some of the scroats who follow Derby now that I don't remember being there years ago. One incident that stands out from one of my last away trips (I won't go away again) - on the way back from Peterborough one of our 'ultras' couldn't wait to go to the toilet, kept hammering on the loo door and then decided to pee in the carridge in front of a young family who had returned from a holiday, suitcases etc, turned to us and said 'we're all Derby aren't we?' Never felt so ashamed to support Derby. The same geezer and his mates fortunately got their comeuppance at Birmingham City by attempting to 'take' a pub in Digbeth. On this occasion I was glad to witness them spill out of the boozer, wild west style by a much older group of Blues. From what I've heard, a similar thing happened in a Coventry pub the other week too.

My first ever game. I was Six years old and sat in the B stand I think. Remember the noise and atmosphere but didn't know at the time about his personal circumstances and would have been too young to process it I guess. The Rams lost 2-6 to an England XI.
