Rivalry and banter aside...So sorry to hear this. B4 was a true fan who wore his heart on his sleeve.
Sending our condolences to his family and all his friends and those that knew him on here too.
You're all in our thoughts during this sad time.
    Rest in peace B4.

I have some very sad news this evening.  Daniel (B4) died earlier this week. He was just 38.
As you know, he has been battling numerous health conditions for a long time, but always remained cheerful  and was the most loyal supporter of his beloved Rams, home and away.
He was at the match at Crewe and gave his full support as always.
Daniel leaves behind a grieving dad, mum and sister. Our thoughts go out to them and we only hope they get a little comfort from knowing how well loved Daniel is by all who know him.
Here are a couple of photos that his dad agreed could be shared. I'm sure many of you have others, as Daniel loved a selfie at the game.
David is hoping to arrange a more fitting tribute in time, but for now please raise a glass in his memory and a good Derby win today. I am sure that's what Daniel would have been doing tonight.

I think we've reached the point now, when a manager starts clutching at straws, desperately trying something new to stave off the seemingly inevitable parting of the ways.

I'd imagine tomorrow's training session will see Sonny Badley up front, Josh Vickers banging it long up to him, and James Collins so far offside he's mostly retrieving the ball for goal kicks.

Warne will return to the managers office in despair, coffee in one hand, Winter 2023/23 holiday brochure in the other.

He'll thump his head on the desk in sheer frustration, and begin typing out his resignation letter.

"FFS, even this desk is against me" he'll moan, as his fingers struggle to hit the right keys as the table wobbles precariously back and forth.

Investigating further, he realises the force of the head butt has dislodged a dusty old folder being used to even out the wonky desk legs.

He picks up the folder, expecting its probably just some old accounting ledger we didn't want the EFL to see, and wipes the dust from the cover.

    'The Steve McClaren playbook'.

He opens it gingerly, like Indiana Jones opened the Ark, and gazes in rapt wonder at its contents.

He realises, for the first time in his life, that the ball serves its purpose better on the floor, passing can be better than running, and effort is no substitute for ability.

He slides the holiday brochure back under the table leg, and sets to work typing up his new vision of football management, ready to impart this knowledge of his staff and players, and before we know it, the Rams are flying up the table.

All I needed was time, he'll declare to the local media upon automatic promotion in April 2024.

    Prologue.

It's October 2024, and the Rams are struggling to establish themselves back in the Championship.

The fans are unhappy, the owner's coming under pressure to make a change, so Paul dips once again into his managerial bible.

It's done him so well, so far, but try as he might he can't find any answers.

He knows there's a section called Plan B, but he's never had to delve that deeply, all his prayers had been answered in the first section, so he was saving Plan B for the Prem.

Needs must though, so he turns the page eagerly.
    Plan B.

It's blank, obviously, apart from a picture of a giant mug, and a Newcastle telephone no.

    Going from 1967 onwards:
    1. DAVID NISH (Criminal he only had 5 England Caps, but obviously his injuries played a big factor).
    2. Micky Forsyth (Underrated by most 325 appearances with half of them in the top flight.)
    3. John Robson (Would have been a fixture for years if we had not brought in Nish)
    4. Chris Powell ( Good player and a great guy)
    5. Craig Forsyth (Like namesake Micky you don't really miss him until he is not there)
    6. Steve Buckley (One of the Trench crew that brought us back from the brink in 84, local lad too and his dog is written in Derby Folklore!!)

Can we afford to be one dimensional for the whole match, every match? What if the opposition work out a way to combat that style of play? Surely we need a Martin type player, preferably a bit younger, who could completely change the way we play, when required?

I’ll say the same thing I said last time Chris Martin, or as I like to think of him The Best Striker We Had In a Generation. Looking back it felt like we were having the same debates every time and whether it was the end of the season or when he was returning from loans or his main return under Cocu. The thing is, every time Chris Martin came back into the team, he worked hard scored goals and contributed. I have no doubt he’d come and prove a lot of people on here wrong again. It won’t happen because he’s not a Warne player and that’s fine, but the madness here is that those debates were like Norwich fans debating the merits of Pukki or Fulham fans with Mitrovic.
There is an interesting discussion to have on Martin’s time at Derby, he was the best striker we had and there were highs and lows, but I’ve longed got past the idea that a good sensible discussion will ever happen on here. There is fault on both sides of the debate, but there is a certain incredulous feeling that those that like him were having to defend our best striker in the first place!
No i don’t think he will be coming, but he deserves more respect than he gets on here.

Billy Davies has proved himself to be a serial liar and relentless self publicist, so whilst I appreciate that money was tight and he wasn't able to sign exactly who he wanted I simply don't believe that he had 0 input on transfer targets. He played Earnshaw at Forest, so he can't have thought he was that bad. He played Davis at Preston. Also, given that he once threw a tantrum because Doughty wouldn't sign Gareth Bale, I would absolutely love to see his original list of targets for our Premier League campaign. I suspect they would've been laughably ambitious.

He's not a Warne type player is he, but he's so much better than Collins ......even now. We really are low on options and he's an intelligent clever player which the wingers and Knight can run off and will also win free kicks etc as he's always done??.  Comparing Collins to Martin and saying they are similar does Martin such a disservice, the ball bounced off Collins so much the other night ?. They are at different levels. Its not going to happen though, let's be honest even though I think short term it actually makes sense with our lack of alternative options at the moment.

Again, we all have different perceptions. My memory (could be defective ?) is that Nugent started very well and then became and also ran and then dropped of a cliff. Jerome worked hard but scored nothing at first but then got in to his stride and was way more dangerous at the end of his spell than he was at the beginning. ? Any stat men want to analyse it ?

I agree he had a great attitude but he was way past it when Derby signed him and hardly ever looked like a scoring as I remember it but I suppose memories can fade ?. One of Lampard's worst decisions in footballing terms appeared to be when he decided to keep Nugent but release Cameron Jerome when he had been terrorizing defences at the back end of the season prior ?. Nothing wrong with hard work and honest endeavour but there has to be some end product too and I don't recall alot of that at his time at Derby. Alot of the end product and good years were seen in a Leicester shirt against us unfortunately?.

I’ve had enough, I’ve sat silently and patiently, foolishly hoping after the points deduction that this was a clean slate.
It’s clear that the EFL have a vendetta against this club and this latest move to block the preferred bidder needs highlighting and discussing from the highest media platforms and people of influence across the country.
As a fan base, chanting in the stadium simply isn’t enough anymore. We need to put real, sustained pressure on the EFL in the form of media exposure and noise.
Small steps lead to big things, the future of our football club is at stake, let’s not let it die without a fight!
Ive emailed just about every news outlet there is. If you have any positive action you’ve done, post below so we can keep track and build momentum.
