He’s the only one who willingly takes the ball of the back four.
He offers more offensively than Thompson or Smith.
Agree our midfield can look weak at times with him in there but he’s still an asset who he himself knows is probably calling in a day at the end of this summer. For that alone, I hope fans give him the respect he deserves for an excellent career.

Last season it was 7 goals and 10 assists in 44 league one appearances, this season it’s 5 goals and 7 assists in 35 league one games and counting. Whilst not as consistent as I’d hoped he would be from set pieces, he’s still delivered good numbers and as @sage  implied, Hourihane can certainly still strike a ball. Some of his goals have been decisive this season.
I mentioned on one of the matchday threads recently that he’s showing a bit of needle and aggression which I like, and I think he’s showing commitment and leadership especially in the run-in so far, up and cheering the lads on from the bench, not sulking, geeing others up.
I reckon he’s going to leave in the summer and although he’s not as mobile as he was, he is still contributing to the cause so for me he will have a part to play in the next 7 games whether from the bench or starting so he can leave on a high.

You obviously don't know anything about Derby County, though, if you think we'll be paying anybody £20,000 a week soon, Championship or not.

He’s provided midfield balance but would be a squad player if we were promoted

I think we'll need to sign players with more end product. We're losing Bird and Hourihane who have a combined 9 goals and 13 assists so far this season
Docherty - 1 goal and 4 assists in 88 Championship games (1 contribution per 1011 mins)
Thompson - 3 goals and 3 assists in 122 Championship games (1 per 1125 mins)
Williams - 4 goals and 14 assists in 185 Championship games (1 per 749 mins). Also sufers with a lot of muscle injuries
Whilst I would expect Osborn to add the goals/assists we should be looking for, I think it's unlikely he would come to us.
I would also expect one of our summer signings to be a left footed set piece taker. We've seen this season how Warne likes us to swing corners in, with Hourihane and Mendez-Laing/Ward sharing responsibility. Perhaps Arthur Read who shares the responisbility at Colcehster too, is their leading assister and 2nd top scorer despite playing as a DM in Colchester's favoured 352.

I took it to mean that he couldn't control the actual process and whether it would be completed or not which, with the end of the transfer window approaching fast, is true because some actions are completely out of his hands. The decision to leave or not was/is entirely in his court if another club meets the club's asking price but, as you say, he's not as in control of the overall process as you or I would be.

    How can you say that?
Zero shots on target, 4 shots with an XG under 0.1.
And this is against an awful opponent.
Were dogsh1t again as it stands.
Which players are playing genuinely well?

I think the tactic seems pretty obvious to me. Get the ball wide to Ward, whip it in, hope for the best.
You are right in that we are lucky Rovers are poor.
I can’t see them being this bad again.

The amount of time both teams have taken over throws and free kicks is ridiculous. We’re destroying our own tempo. Keep the ball in the floor and we should win this. Bristol are awful

This is just turgid again. One good piece of football with an offside to ruin it but still not sure what we’re trying to do.
Any sign of a set piece it’s go long - I think we want to pass it around but then we lose it.
    Four shots, nothing on target.
It’s just another game that’s passing by and we’re making no impact.
One less defensive player and one more attacking player please Warne…. But he won’t.
We are lucky there are so poor.

I'm not an accountant, so I stand to be corrected but can't losses be carried forward and used to offset against future profits, reducing the tax liability in subsequent years? That may not be it, but I feel sure there must be some financial benefit to the club in "giving away" shirt sponsorship to a charity, otherwise we are deliberately throwing income away when every penny counts

I think my estimates for the year weren't too far out on the important details considering I didn't have much to go on - only 5 year old accounts and predicted changes due to relegation.
£500k overstatement on our losses when ignoring the 1 off impairment charge. An overestimate on the turnover by £1.3m (mainly due to commerical/hospitality) and £1.3m underestimate on the wages (half of which down to SP's pay).
Comparison of 22/23 estimate/actual and revised 23/24 estimate:

What does that question even mean? Are they asking about the quality on information within the accounts or are they asking about the financial stability of the club?
