  1. I know work rate is something anyone can do but Collins was phenomenal in that aspect tonight. Some good touches under pressure and a good goal which closed the game out. I think that’s harsh to say he didn’t play well.
  2. Though to be honest - as long as you’re on any plane for the next few hours, the security check one is just to get you into security. Only one check to make sure you’re on the right plane. Not had it checked on a plane for about five years. I fly maybe once a month on average.
  3. Could the club have put up clear signs outside the ground to indicate where the checks would happen? Will this happen for you South Standers every game? ST fiasco aside - just curious to know if the usual fans up there preferred it or it made no difference?
  4. Wasn’t any car parking tickets left when I checked start of season from memory. My dad offered to buy one. I don’t think he’d ever want to use a cart. He can walk 1klm or so (when his hearts not plying up). He’s not a guy who takes the football seriously, leaves on 85 (because he doesn’t like the crowds) and I’m not sure he’d be upset if he didn’t go anymore. You’d think maybe the club would offer cheaper parking passes to ST holders who are over a specific age. I think they do cheaper season tickets from 85 plus? (He’s 82 by the way). Still, another forum member has given me an idea privately, which is appreciated so I’ll give that a go for the next Saturday game.
  5. I was actually grateful that one of the locals came outside his house and told me. I did a drive round and saw the new signs up. They were up as you entered the area from London Rod but each individual road didn’t have any specific signs. Looks like he saved me £60. I saw one car afterwards on the street (where at the end of it is a little car park and people often park on the grass verges) with a ticket on but it could have been from today or an older one. Evening games are OK after six.
  6. Council has now introduced permit parking only on the roads on the Alvaston Side of Pride Park (London Road) and so on. It’s now actually getting harder and harder to get to park at games. My dad is 82, this will probably be the final nail for him coming to games. I understand the other side of the argument - this is where people live and so on, but it’s just silly now.
  7. I wonder what the chances are of us ending up weaker, not stronger on the pitch (not the bank) by the end of January.
  8. So we got 70k for reaching the last 16, so we get anything for the last 8?
  9. I got lucky to be fair. Didn’t realise some were mon to Say and others to the Friday. Got there at 2.35pm, someone pulled out and I got a spot immediately. Home really quickly as well.
  10. A good solid performance today but feel Bird is slightly ineffective in the advanced role. Doesnt make runs beyond Collins and doesn’t really know when to come and show for it. Would prefer him deeper but that does leave a dilemma of who to put in the 10 spot. (As I don’t want Korey Smith anywhere near the team!)
  11. All the street parking around the ground is only permit required Monday to Friday. Nothing at the weekends. Im parking 5 minutes walk away.
  12. I was hoping for a sensible parking idea. I did a quick google streetview and it doesn't look like the streets around it are restricted?
  13. This guy looks the real deal. I know Ramsgate are level 8 in the pyramid - but this guy looked like it didn't matter what level he was playing. He'd have the skillset to make it.
  14. Well £5m should go a very long way in League One however it also depends when the money actually comes in. So you advocate paying someone 500k a year - joint top earner in the club - ok, thats fair, I'll go with that but you just ignored the savings on Cashin's Salary - which I imagine is probably 300-400k a year right now. I'd also suggest that should we get £5m, spending it on three £1m signings from League One and League Two with up and coming potential is a better investment for us.
  15. Of course it wouldn't - but I'm be curious if parents of 16/17 years old's in the DCFC academy believe there is a genuine pathway to the first team under Warne?
  16. If we still had a Rosenoir they’d be a pathway for these kids…
  17. Losing last night probably cost us £200k or so. Progressing through R1, hope of progressing through R2 and then a third round draw and the benefits of that game. Instead we lost in front of 3,000 (I have no idea how many were there) to Crewe 😞
  18. 1 more overseas to come in. Probably a spinning all-rounder? Would like us to get a batsman in though to be fair. I know we say this every year - but I actually am excited about next summer.
  19. Derby Dazzler Desperately trying to remain relevant.
  20. Allowing the players to pass it on the deck from the back. One holding midfielder. GK isn’t hoofing it. No longer kicking into channels and then pressing from trapping them. It’s not rocket science. If you have good footballers, let them play. This is all he has changed.
