I said tactical shifts, not taking players off.
We are seeing game after game, very simple adjustments made by opposition managers while we endlessly plug away with the same approach.
Its nothing to do with limited squad and it could be as simple as switching wide players over to try something different, rather than just keep going.

At least the other qualifiers can say they were knocked out by the eventual champion.
Watching that was just amazing. The class from her and her maturity with handling the media is also incredible.
I hope she enjoys every minute of it, with the inevitable scream of demand she will get when she gets home.
Well done Emma and a great night for British tennis.

A marked contrast to how quietly Emma sat when Leylah took a toilet break after she lost the first set.
Took the opportunity to compose herself, which is really what Leylah should have done.
But we shouldn't let that spoil the contribution she made to a great final. Exceptional tennis at times from both players.

Keogh was an utter twit for doing what he did but Morris didn’t sack him because of ‘gross misconduct’; he did only went down that route after Keogh refused a much reduced contract. Regardless of the circumstances Morris tried to circumvent established employment norms and ended up costing the club 2.5 million. Another example of his piss poor decision making.

The manager and his team for being unadaptable depending on opposition and picking a player who appears totally self absorbed as captain.  Also, the senior players who need to start stamping their authority on the pitch if their not getting any change of direction during games, regardless.

Birmingham didn't have a plan to start with though, we were controlling the ball and tempo of the game in the first 20 minutes as they were giving us far too much space and time to work the ball from the back.
When Bowyer got wise to that then we had no answer and as soon as they started putting us under pressure we gifted them the first goal as we weren't used to having to work the ball from the back with their players harrying us.
Our inability to get anything from the game was nothing to do with the ref or linos let's be honest Shinnie was quite rightly booked for wrestling their player and one of their players was booked for doing exactly the same kind of thing in the second half.
The distinct difference was our players lack of discipline compared to theirs which needs to be coached out very quickly, Lawrence and Morrison the notable offenders for seeking retribution after they thought that they had been both fouled.

The tactics are to blame for the goals. The aim of playing it out from the back is fine if we actually play the ball out from the back. What we are actually doing is playing around with the ball at the back, because,, as someone else has said, our midfield aren't showing for the ball, and when they get it they pass it back to the defenders, or sideways between themselves, and don't turn and move the ball forwards. Consequently we could have Messi, Ronaldo, Kane and whoever else upfront and it wouldn't make much difference because the ball wouldn't arrive there until all our forwards are heavily marked up. As with last night, all the opposition have to do is step forwards a few yards and press us, and we are under pressure. So instead of playing the ball in our own comfort, we are under pressure, and having to play defensively trying to avoid giving the ball away. And inevitably that pressure leads to mistakes, and even at Championship level the opposition only need one chance to punish us and we are done for. I know Rooney hinted at the need to change it up a bit, but I suspect that fact that we do the tippy-tappy thing every time we get the ball at the back is because that is what the players have been told they must do.
If we are going to continue with playing out from the back, then we need midfielders who will turn with the ball and play it forwards quickly, a bit like Loue Watson did when he was played in his best position in central midfield. Maybe we ought to do away with insisting on two DMs every match. The DM concept worked best when we only had one of them in the days  of gorgeous George. I know we haven't got a George Thorne right now, but one DM frees up space for someone a bit more creative wo can move the ball forwards more quickly and decisively.

Agree with the first part completely.
But think Rooney is massively benefitting from goodwill for having such a lot of stuff going on in the background. Result wise it's pretty average at best and including the end of last season absolutely terrible.

If he gets us relegated having had the really undeserved escape he benefited from with an underperforming team last season..what evidence is there is any reason to give him another chance?

I am not sure they made the difference, to be honest. Hogan and Jutkiewicz are fairly average for this level and Deeney only had a cameo.
If anything, the pace and directness of players like Chong and Bela was probably more telling.
It was a poor game with little quality on show.
Our defending and lack of organisation let us down. You can’t give away the kind of goals we do and expect to be competitive.
Look at the first goal, as an example. Hogan was completely unmarked and uncontested. He couldn’t miss. He is not going to score an easier goal all season.
The fact we have Baldock, Stretton and Kazim as our forwards comes down to historically poor decision making at the club.
But the lack of goal threat comes from poor tactics which don’t maximise our threat, a lack of team balance, and also having inconsistent players in key positions - the type who can frustrate far more than they excite.

I think you are aware that comparing footballers fixed term contracts to standard employment rights are two totally different kettles of fishes.
By your implications which I know you are aware don't follow then Bielik would have only been paid SSP when he is currently injured as he's also unable to work.
The difference with the Keogh case is that Derby tried to impose a variation in Keogh's fixed term contract which he didn't agree to therefore was sacked, and this sacking was later found to be unfair.

I don't believe misconduct was proved, that's why players have the PFA behind them
He has got a good track record where dismissals are concerned, not. The person who caused the accident should have been dismissed for gross misconduct as well then but because he was still of use to the club he got a slap on the wrist. MM left himself wide open.

Well i certainly hold it against him sacking Keogh, so did others otherwise he wouldn't have been ordered to pay up his contract in full. This is not Victorian times were you can just simply get rid of someone because they are no longer of use to you.

we can all have a habit of overanalysing things and picking holes in things.
at the end of the day, we were already dead and burried and anybody would have said the person coming in would have done a good job to keep us up. That was his job , and he ended up doing it
