Deej reacted to Tyler Durden in Kelle Roos
Typical of the lack.of balance on this forum - one good game and he's a world beater, one poor game and he's garbage.
We already knew before the game last night that Roos was a good shot stopper but doesn't command his area at all, is not comfortable with the ball played back to him and drops the occasional high profile ricket.
Nothing has changed from this since last night.

How is Chris Hughton still in a job? But I hate that Chris Wilder is being touted to take over from him. I would have Rooney out and Wilder in here in a heartbeat. Don't want Wilder joining that lot down the Brian Clough Way.

It was a bit of levity, you know humour, the kind of stuff that’s been lacking on the forum of late. You wouldn’t have given it the “really” treatment if I was one of your clique would you ? Nah. ?

A lot better in the middle. Not sure what we gain playing him out on the wing.

Deej reacted to Leeds Ram in Embargo.
If there was absolutely no advantage to be gained why did we choose such an unusual method? So unusual no other club in the football league used the same method. From the little I've read (and am happy to be shown I'm wrong) it does seem as though we gained an advantage through minimising losses via a unique way of measuring amortisation. Now that's a separate question from do other clubs use loopholes to gain a systematic advantage over others where we can look at others and point out some hypocrisies going on and it's even separate from the question of whether we really did anything wrong. But it looks (again from the little I have read) that we used a method that did give us a significant advantage over others.
I'm in the camp now where the EFL aren't backing down and Mel should come to an agreement even if it is a points deduction. Dragging this on isn't in the club's best interest, it is simply burning the club and even if we come away with a victory it'll likely be a pyrrhic one with us looking at potential relegation. I don't know if it's ego that's the issue here, that Mel can't tolerate being told he's wrong and is fighting it all the way to get some kind of vindication that he was in the right all along but I'm finding it difficult to understand why we haven't come to a mutual agreement on this still.

The U23s are playing away at Everton at 7pm tomorrow night: https://southportfc.net/information-everton-u23-v-Derby-county/
I cannot fathom, with our threadbare squad, why we are organizing our U23 matches to coincide with out first team games. For me it's a recipe for the U23s being relegated from the top division this season.

Isn't that everyone's personal prerogative though whether they do or don't?
My understanding was this was a forum so if people want to post they don't need the permission of you or I or anyone else.
Or if you turn your argument round if you don't like what they're saying then why don't you leave then?

Now you are being silly.
If there's one constant throughout all of this debacle it's the club's steadfast refusal to offer any form of communication whatsoever - why do you think now that this will miraculously alter?

I’ve got to find some way to drop Sibbo when I shouldn’t, so playing Lawro when I shouldn’t fits the bill really well.

Deej reacted to Duracell in Louie Sibley
I have this feeling that we didn't start Sibley last season for the same reason Southgate was reluctant to start Grealish for much of the Euros. Both managers felt that their attacking threat did not override their defensive shortcomings - or that other players were simply better at that kind of thing.
This conservatism is the best and worst thing about our footballing culture. It is the reason England men's team reached its first final in over half a century, and it is why we lost it.
Sibley would be my first name on the team sheet. Screw clean sheets. Screw tracking back. Let our dinosaurs at the back sort out his mess and just outscore the opposition.

I can't see any slating on here only perfectly reasonable comments that the club could just make a one line statement saying revised accounts now submitted to EFL, the club will make no further comment at this stage.
Hardly difficult is it and would then cut out a lot of the guessing. The club has proven to be extremely reticent to do anything like that in the past as though they think it's not important, they seem totally out of touch with the fanbase.

Take your point buddy, but its one thing seeing sub-optimal performance, it's another stating he lacks talent and ability. In fairness, most on here do seem to see it but as has been stated countless times, the lad needs to start games, not be given the odd cameo and expected to play at the top of his game. As with any player, games will breed confidence and I think we're stating to see that latent ability coming to the fore now he is being given more game time.

I don't agree with you on a number of things Roy, but I'm happy to acknowledge when I think you are absolutely right about something.
Joswiak may not have delivered all that he might have hoped, but he has skill and looks to have responded to his slight mistake last week in the right, positive way.

Deej reacted to May Contain Nuts in Christopher Hugh Martin Fan Club
People wetting the bed after Martin has a good start to the season, again?
He started last season well but completely tailed off - by the time he got injured his record was 2 goals in 26 championship appearances. He got 5 assists but 4 of them were in his first 5 matches.
We'll see what happens this year now he's got Weimann back alongside him, it seems to be a good little partnership.
Of course I'd have him back, but he chose to leave for a fresh start, more security and a longer contract.
He didn't back himself to earn another year here after the 1-year contract offer, didn't back himself to perform well enough for another club to come in for him after that year was up.
Of course there was also the risk factor of getting injured (which he did!) and finishing a contract while on the treatment table - that hasn't stopped Curtis Davies sticking around, but clearly Chris & Curtis have different priorities.
Again. His decision. We didn't force him to leave ?
His name's not Chris Martyr
